The State Council Of China issued the goal of “Made In China 2025” on May 8th 2015 and target to bring China from a country with large scale of manufacturing capability to a great manufacturing power in the world which can match with the manufacturing capability of the America,United Kingdom etc..The advancement of Science and technology depends on solid and great innovation.Chinese premier Mr.Li reiterated several times that the advance of Chinese economy depends on reform and innovation.The development of manufacturing power relies on individual enterprise because every enterprise is the main body of the market and the main innovator.While the innovation really relies on a good systematic platform for new product research and development,every company should create a solid and effective new product development and management system.Because without it,the company will not be able to maintain and keep their competitive edge in the market,and they can’t satisfy their customer need which is changing fast every day.The object of this article is Z Company.The mainly theoretical basis is the Product Life Cycle and Excellence theory and the Stage-Gate theory.The purpose of this article is to create a new product research & development management system for Z Company.Firstly,this article summarizes the theories and the status of domestic & international product research and development,explains the core idea and frame work of the Product Life Cycle and the Stage-Gate theory.Then it describes the current status of product development of Z Company,analyzes the organization structure,product platform,and utilized fish bone method to identify all the issues of the current system.After that,based on the nature of the issues and the characteristic of Z Company,this article analyses the root cause of the current problem and provides an improved product development and management system.Lastly,this article provides several measurement and implementation strategy in order to better implement the new product development system.Method used in this article includes literature research,observation,field survey method and case study method.
