Research On The Export Competitiveness Of Hubei Manufacturing Industry Based On Global Value Chain

As a framework document to revitalize China's manufacturing industry,Made in China 2025 aims to enhance the strength of Chinese manufacturing industry,especially its export competitiveness.The manufacturing position of a country(region)in the value chain determines its export competitiveness strength.If China wants to transform to a manufacturing power,it needs to rapidly improve its position in the global value chain.In response to national policy,the people's government of Hubei province also issued Made in China 2025 Hubei platform for action.It aims to promote the development of Hubei manufacturing industry and enhance export competitiveness of manufacturing industry,finally improve the position of Hubei manufacturing industry in global value chain.So,from Global value chain perspective,this paper studies the export competitiveness of Hubei manufacturing industry.The research is divided into the following six aspects.Firstly,elaborate the research background and significance of the thesis.Review the research results of relevant scholars at home and abroad.Then explain the content,the method and the whole frame of the research.Secondly,this paper elaborates the theory of global value chain,comparative advantage theory and factor endowment theory.Thirdly,describe the present situation of Hubei manufacturing industry export.Analyze the existing problems and the challenges.Fourthly,use the market share index,the global value chain position index,revealed comparative advantage index and quality competitiveness index to do research on export competitiveness.At last,the paper establishes the model and carries on the econometric analysis to the influence factors of Hubei manufacturing export competitiveness.Finally,draw conclusions and corresponding policy suggestions.Research results show that the manufacturing industry in Hubei has a low position in the global value chain.Hubei manufacturing industry is in the third tier of each manufacturing technology level.Second,from the domestic market share,Hubei manufacturing export competitiveness is weak.But the domestic market share of Hubei shows a trend of slow rise.In terms of the revealed comparative advantage index,the manufacturing industry in Hubei has a strong international competitiveness.Hubei has a strong international competitiveness in the low-tech industry,and is less competitive in the middle and low technology industries and high-tech industries.The comparative advantage of medium and high technology industry is strong.According to the quality competitiveness index,the manufacturing quality of Hubei has been improving continuously.At last,from the factors that affect the export competitiveness of Hubei manufacturing industry,as for cost competitiveness and support for innovation,they have a positive influence on Hubei manufacturing global value chain position.The stronger the cost competitiveness,the higher the position in the global value chain of manufacturing industry in Hubei,and also the greater the export competitiveness.The larger the support for innovation,the higher the position in the global value chain of manufacturing industry in Hubei,and the greater the export competitiveness.
