Analysis On The Integration Of Urban And Rural Economy With Transportation Infrastructure Investment In Western China

Since the reform and opening up,cities and countryside have played different roles in economic development.The practice of sacrificing the interests of rural peasants to develop urban industry has made the urban and rural economic development of our country more and more bigger and bigger.The polarization of urban and rural development has formed a very prominent urban-rural dual structure.With the development of economy and society,the uncoordinated relationship between the two has become an obstacle to regional development.Urban-rural integration is becoming more and more important to the development of economy and society.Especially for the western areas with large rural areas,the "three rural" problem has become an urgent problem to be solved.This study,the paper makes an analysis of the integration of urban and rural economy in the western region.Firstly,it makes a theoretical analysis,and then constructs a reasonable index system for the integration of urban and rural economy and carries out a hierarchical analysis of the indicators.On this basis,the comprehensive evaluation index of urban-rural economic integration in the western region is compared vertically with that in the eastern and central regions,and the provinces in the western region are compared horizontally.Finally,the spatial econometric model is used to analyze the investment in transportation infrastructure and the integration of urban and rural economy in the western region.This study come to the following conclusions:First,the level of urban and rural economic integration of the western is rising but slowly,which means economic integration between urban and rural is becoming much better.Secondly,the investment in transportation infrastructure plays a positive role in the development of urban-rural economic integration in the western region,but the effect of highway transportation isnot significant.Railway transportation shows a positive effect and a great spillover effect.Through the above,it is believed that the Western transportation infrastructure has a positive effect on the integration of urban and rural economy,breaking the dual structure of urban and rural areas in the western region,on the one hand,promoting the construction of new countryside and giving more welfare policies to rural residents.On the other hand,we should improve the construction of transportation infrastructure and increase the coverage of transportation network.
