Chinese manufacturing activities have been excluded from high value-added productive activities,such as R&D and branding.Most manufacturing enterprises are engaged in processing and manufacturing,which have the advantage of low labor costs.However,with the drastic changes in the international division of labor,the aging of Chinese population and resource scarcity,the competitiveness of my country's manufacturing industry will cease to exist.Problems such as backward production technology and lack of core competitiveness have become increasingly prominent.However,investment in productive services is conducive to China's manufacturing industry moving towards the two ends of the smile curve,which will benefit the transformation of manufacturing industry.However,China's productive service industry started late,with fewer types of productive services and low technical content.Importing productive services from foreign markets has become an important way to improve the level of Chinese manufacturing serviitization.Thus it is quite important to research the influlence of productive service imports on manufacturing serviitization.Through combing the relevant literature,this article attempts to study the impact of productive service trade on China's manufacturing servitization from the perspective of import technical complexity.First,this article used export technology complexity to derive import complexity,used complete consumption coefficient to measure the manufacturing servitization,then this article measured and analyzed the import technical complexity and manufacturing servitization based on the trade data and international output input tables of 40 countries from 2001 to 2014 published by UNCTAD and WIOD databases,through which we found that the increase of the import technical complexity can promote the improvement of China's manufacturing servitization.Secondly,this paper analyzed the impact mechanism of producer service import technical complexity on manufacturing serviceization and from four aspects:technology spillover effect,import competition effect,factor reorganization effect,and the adjustment effect of manufacturing development level,and proposed our assumptions based on this:increase in the technical complexity of import producer service is conducive to the improvement of the manufacturing servitization,but the impact of different producer services may be different.Thirdly,this paper constructed a regression equation to test the aforementioned hypothesis,and comparatively analyze the impact of the technical complexity on the overall manufacturing industry and different factor-intensive manufacturing industries;then based on the heterogeneity of producer service industries,according to technology Intensity distinction,compared the difference between the impact of high-end and low-end producer services on the China's manufacturing servitization,empirical results show that there is a significant positive correlation between the complexity of imported producer service and China's manufacturing servitization level.In addition,low-end services are more conducive to the rise of the overall servitization level of China's manufacturing industry,while high-end services have a more obvious role in technology-intensive manufacturing.Finally,this article summarizes the results of the empirical analysis,and based on this conclusion,it puts forward specific policy recommendations on the road of manufacturing servitization in China.
