In today's developed commodity economy,consumers purchase products in order to obtain spiritual experience from product design innovation.Unlike traditional innovation research theories,the focus of design-driven innovation research is not on internal design resources,but on open resources,especially those that can stimulate product semantic creation,such as consumer demand,social and cultural development trends.As an innovation theory emphasizing open resources,design-driven innovation is still in the early stage of the open mode.Therefore,it is very important to tap external design resources for the improvement of design innovation ability and the development of design-driven innovation theory.This paper focuses on DY company,a smart home enterprise that produces smart curtains.After investigation and analysis,it is found that there is a problem of unsalable products in smart home enterprises due to lack of design capacity,and collaborative innovation network contains external resources that can potentially improve design innovation capacity.For the research object of smart home enterprise,this paper will dig out external resources that can improve its design innovation ability from the collaborative innovation network.Referring to the research results of domestic and foreign scholars,this paper divides the dimension of collaborative innovation network into two parts:external technical resources and external social and cultural resources;divides the dimension of product design innovation ability into two parts:product function design ability and product semantie design ability,and puts forward a three-level,eight level including collaborative network resources,design innovation ability and innovation performance Path hypothesis model.After obtaining 220 original data about the design driven innovation implementation path from DY employees by questionnaire,I conducted an empirical study on the implementation path of design driven innovation driven by external resources.In this stage,I use SPSS and Amos to test the model's adaptation index,path coefficient and intermediary effect,and verify that the model meets the design driven innovation requirements of DY company,and can be used as a research model.On the one hand,the two design innovation capabilities have a significant positive impact on the improvement of innovation performance,indicating that design innovation capability can significantly improve innovation performance,that is,the design-driven innovation effect of smart home enterprises is obvious.On the other hand,both external technical resources and external social and cultural resources have significant positive effects on the improvement of product design innovation ability.This shows that external design resources have synergistic effect on promoting the product design capability.The research conclusion of this topic is of great significance to help smart home enterprises start from the perspective of product innovation design and develop products more in line with consumer needs,thus occupying the market.
