Since reform and opening up,China's economy has grown rapidly.However,at the same time of industrial development and economic growth,problems such as high unit energy consumption,low resource utilization efficiency,and large environmental pollution still exist.In this regard,the party and the country have made great efforts in industrial restructuring and upgrading.The optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure can not only solve the major problems faced by China's industrial structure,but also the main starting point for transforming the economic development mode.Under the new stage,in order to promote the effective upgrading of China's industrial structure and the development of high-quality economy,we must rely on innovation.Technological innovation has always been the backbone of promoting the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.However,different technological progress paths have different effects on the upgrading of industrial structure.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the impact of different technological innovation paths on the upgrading of industrial structure.This article is divided into five parts.The first part expounds the research background,purpose and significance,and conducts a literature review.The second part introduces related concepts such as industrial structure upgrade and technological progress path,and states the theoretical basis involved in this study.The third part is the mechanism of the impact of technological innovation path on the upgrading of industrial structure.It mainly analyzes the impact of three paths of independent innovation,technology introduction and imitation innovation on the upgrading of industrial structure from a qualitative perspective.The fourth part is the focus of this article,using panel data from 31 provinces in China from 2002 to 2016 to quantitatively analyze the impact of different technological progress paths on the upgrading of industrial structure.The fifth part is conclusions and policy recommendations.The main conclusion is that independent innovation initially has no obvious driving effect on the upgrading of the industrial structure,but as economic development promotes the upgrading of the industrial structure,the introduction of technology can promote the upgrading of the industrial structure in a short time.However,it may hinder economic development for a long time.If it cannot be absorbed and transformed in time,the imported technology will cause negative effects on the upgrading of the industrial structure;imitation innovation has little effect on the upgrading of the industrial structure in the short term,and the long-term promotion effect on the upgrading of theindustrial structure becomes The more obvious.The eastern and central parts of the country have strong and basic technological capabilities and are suitable for independent innovation and imitation innovation.In the western region,due to the lack of high-end technical talents and weak economic strength,the introduction of technology can also promote the upgrading of the industrial structure.On the basis of the conclusion,it puts forward the selection of technological innovation paths based on actual conditions,strengthens local government policy guidance,adopts regionally differentiated innovation support policies,strengthens cross-regional cooperation mechanisms,and promotes collaborative innovation in different regions.The innovation of this article is that the research perspective is relatively new.This article considers that the technological progress path is different,which may have different impacts on the industrial structure,so the technological innovation is reasonably divided;the selection model is more reasonable.Based on the relationship between variables under different economic powers,we then examine the impact of different paths of technological innovation on the industrial structure of China as a whole and the three major regions of eastern,central and western regions.
