Agricultural product trade is an important subject in international trade.Due to the special nature of agricultural products, agricultural products often suffer huge losses in international trade due to various restrictions on import and export. The high cost of agricultural trade has become an important factor restricting the development of agricultural trade. In order to promote the development of agricultural product trade, scholars from various countries have studied how to reduce the cost of agricultural product trade, hoping to solve the problem of agricultural product trade development. In today's world, with the deepening of economic globalization, regional economic integration is also booming, and countries have launched deeper regional economic cooperation by signing free trade agreements. With the signing of free trade agreements, all countries have opened their markets, introduced investment, reduced taxes and fees, and lowered barriers to promote the further development of trade between countries.Research on the impact of trade policies on trade costs is also being carried out.China's free trade agreement strategy started in the early 21 st century. After more than ten years of development,it is gradually maturing. In the context of world regional integration cooperation, this article uses China as an example to study how free trade agreements affect China's agricultural product trade costs.Among them, can FTA effectively reduce the cost of agricultural trade? What are the ways to reduce the cost of agricultural trade? How to further advance the FTA strategy to promote the development of agricultural trade? These are the focuses of this article. The introduction introduces the research background, research significance, research ideas and research methods of this article. The literature review reviews domestic and foreign literature from three aspects: the definition and measurement of trade cost, the influencing factors of trade cost, and the trade effect of FTA.Through a detailed theoretical analysis of the development status of China's FTA and the mechanism of China's FTA on trade costs, the article concludes that FTA mainly affects trade costs from four aspects, namely, tariff reduction, promotion of technical standards coordination and consistency, and trade facilitation And foreign policy to influence trade costs. The descriptive analysis part analyzes the in-depth characteristics of the FTA signed by China, and conducts a descriptive analysis on the status of bilateral agricultural product trade costs between China and other countries(regions)from 2003 to2015 In summary, the future outlook of China's bilateral agricultural product trade cost changes is presented. The empirical part makes an empirical analysis of China's bilateral trade costs from2003 to 2015 through the extended gravitational model with FTA as the main explanatory variable. The results show that FTA can effectively reduce agricultural trade costs.Regardless of whether law enforcement is considered, the WTO + clauses of the first-generation trade policy and the WTO-X clauses of the second-generation trade policy have significantly reduced the cost of China 's bilateral agricultural trade. Finally, the conclusion and policy recommendations of this article.According to the conclusions,it is proposed to establish FTAs to reduce the cost of agricultural products trade, strengthen the construction of China's FTA from the perspective of enhancing the depth and breadth of FTA,and appropriately increase China's negotiation initiative in FTA strategy to expand the scope of trade and increase FTA To promote the development of China's agricultural trade.
