An Analysis Of Impact Of Urbanization On City Innovation Efficiency From A Two-stage Perspective

China's economic development is entering a new stage.In the construction of an innovative country,innovation has become an important driving force for national economic development.Therefore,it is very important to analyze the impact of urbanization on regional innovation efficiency in the process of building an innovative country.Based on a large number of literature review and a summary of existing relevant theories,this paper analyzes the impact of urbanization on regional innovation efficiency in the second stage.In this paper,71 innovative cities are taken as the research objects,and the core explanatory variables is urbanization level;the control variables include economic development level,government support,financial development degree,labor quality factor and information development degree.In this paper,SBM-DEA model is used to measure innovation efficiency,and Fixed effect model is used to analyze the influence of different factors on innovation efficiency of regions.The conclusion is as follows:(1)The innovation efficiency of innovative cities in China is generally on the rise,but the differences between regions are obvious.In the research time domain,the innovation efficiency of China's innovative cities in 2008-2018 generally showed an upward trend.There are obvious regional differences in the innovation efficiency of cities.The innovation efficiency of eastern cities is higher than that of central and western cities.(2)There are differences in the impact of urbanization on the efficiency of innovation and R & D and economic transformation.The level of urbanization has a positive effect on the improvement of innovation and R & D efficiency and economic conversion efficiency,but there is a more significant U-shaped relationship between urbanization and innovation and R & D efficiency.In the economic transformation stage,urbanization has a significant impact on economic conversion efficiency.The linear effect has no obvious secondary effect.(3)In terms of control variables,at the stage of innovation and R & D,the regression coefficients of the economic development level,labor quality factors,and information development of the cities in the Middle East and the west are all positive,and the three play a fundamental role in innovation and R & D activities.Government support has a significant positive correlation with the innovation efficiency of eastern,central,and western cities,but the degree of impact varies.In the stage of economic transformation,the level of economic development,the quality of labor force,and the degree of information development have a significant effect on the innovation and R & D efficiency of cities in the eastern,central and western cities.Government support has a negative effect on the efficiency of the economic transformation stage of the eastern cities,and it has no significant effect on the economic transformation efficiency of the central and western cities.The degree of financial development has a promoting effect on the economic conversion efficiency of innovation activities in the eastern and central regions,and has a negative correlation with the economic conversion efficiency of innovation activities in western cities.
