With the development of economic globalization, the division of labor within products has been further deepened. The China's manufacturing industry has achieved rapid development by embedding itself into the international division of labor system actively. However,China's manufacturing industry is large but not strong, mainly relying on the advantages of low labor costs to engage in labor-intensive work such as processing and assembly.Due to the decrease of demographic dividend in recent years, and more and more emerging developing countries are embedded in the global production network, the comparative advantage of China's manufacturing industry is gradually lost.So it is urgent to find new kinetic energy to form new core competitiveness to break through this situation. At the same time, the arrival of a new round of technological revolution and industrial revolution has made serviceization play an increasingly important role in the development of global manufacturing industry.More and more developed countries regard servitization of manufacturing as the strategic core of manufacturing development, and the Chinese government has also issued relevant policies to emphasize the importance of the servitization transformation of China's manufacturing industry. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact mechanism of servitization promotion on manufacturing upgrading and the difference of such impact in manufacturing industries classified by different technical levels,so as to provide a reference for China's future servitization transformation and manufacturing upgrading.Firstly, this paper reviews and summarizes the theories and researches related to servitization and manufacturing upgrading. On this basis,it sums up the impact mechanism of input servitization, output servitization and their collaboration on manufacturing upgrading, and constructs an empirical analysis model of servitization on manufacturing upgrading. At the same time, the complete consumption coefficient, servitization index and coupling coordination degree are used to measure the input servitization level, output servitization level and the degree of collaborative interaction of China's manufacturing industry from 2000 to 2017,and the regression analysis is carried out based on the other panel data of of China's manufacturing industry. The results show that for China's manufacturing industry as a whole, the relationship between the level of input-servitization,output-servitization and the upgrading of manufacturing industry is a "U-shaped" curve, and the synergy of input-servitization and output-servitization will have a positive role in promoting the upgrading of manufacturing industry. For the manufacturing industry classified by different technology levels, the impact of input servitization level on the upgrading of manufacturing industry is consistent with that of the overall manufacturing industry, showing a "U-shaped" curve relationship. But the impact of output servitization level on the upgrading of manufacturing industry classified by different technology levels is different. For the low-tech manufacturing industry, there is no significant relationship between output servitization and manufacturing upgrading. For the medium-tech manufacturing industry, the output servitization level will have a slight negative inhibitory effect on the upgrading of the manufacturing industry. For the high-tech manufacturing industry, the relationship between the output servitization level and the upgrading of manufacturing industry is a "U-shaped" curve. The synergy of input-servitization and output-servitization has no significant impact on the upgrading of low-tech manufacturing and medium-tech manufacturing, but has a positive effect on the upgrading of high-tech manufacturing.
