A Study On The Influence Of Industrial Agglomeration And Structure Upgrading On Urban-Rural Income Gap

With the improving of the level of China's economic and social development,China's per capita income level have greater,but the development of economy at the same time with many of the "pain",for example,China's urban and rural economic development is not balanced problem increasingly serious,and the widening of income gap between urban and rural areas have seriously affected the healthy development of China's economic and social.The continued expansion of urban-rural income gap is an extreme threat to the sustained and steady development of China's economy and society.The urban-rural income gap is the product of many factors,but the industrial development is one of the most important factors.In other words,it is of great significance to study the difference of industrial development in China to explore the formation mechanism behind the urban-rural income gap,which is of fundamental significance to solve the problem of urban-rural income imbalance in China.Although a considerable number of scholars have done in-depth research on the urbanrural income gap,there are still a series of unresolved problems.The evolution process and mechanism of the influence of industrial development on urban-rural income gap have not been solved,and the research conclusions have not been unified.Based on the existing literature,this paper subdivides the industrial development into two directions and discusses the influence of industrial agglomeration and industrial structure upgrading on the urban-rural income gap.Firstly,the research ideas of this paper are constructed based on the theoretical basis,and then the influence mechanism of industrial agglomeration and industrial structure upgrading on urban-rural income gap is discussed,and the research hypothesis is put forward.Secondly,taking 199 cities of China's 19 major city clusters as research samples,combined with the existing theoretical basis and impact mechanism,a research hypothesis on the impact of industrial agglomeration and industrial structure upgrading on urban-rural income gap was proposed.Finally,the statistical analysis software Stata was used to conduct empirical analysis on the sample data of 199 cities in China's 19 major city clusters from the national level and the three regional levels of eastern,central and western regions,to obtain the influence of various variables and test the research hypothesis.Through empirical results,the correctness of the research hypothesis is found that industrial agglomeration will improve the expansion of urban-rural income gap,industrial structure upgrading will narrow the urban-rural income gap,industrial agglomeration will promote the development of industrial structure,and industrial agglomeration will narrow the urban-rural income gap by promoting industrial structure upgrading.The empirical results also show that economic development level,city size level,government intervention ability,urbanization level and foreign investment level can all narrow the urban-rural income gap.Finally,combined with the results of empirical research,the paper puts forward policy Suggestions to promote the narrowing of urban-rural income gap from four directions: insisting on the development and cultivation of regional industrial agglomeration,accelerating the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,improving the income level of rural labor force,and constructing a longterm mechanism to narrow the income gap.
