Against the background of increasingly tight constraints on resources and the environment,it is an inevitable choice for China to achieve sustainable development by changing the mode of economic development and promoting the green transformation of industry.Green technological innovation integrates technological innovation and ecosystem as a whole, and has the dual externalities of knowledge spillover and environmental protection. In addition to creating economic benefits,it also brings huge environmental and social benefits. However, compared with western developed countries,China's green technology got off to a late start and its development is relatively slow. Therefore, making effective use of international technology spillovers is one of the important ways to improve China's green technology innovation ability. In the new era of opening wider to the outside world,it is in the interest of a big trading power to explore the relationship between international trade and green technology innovation, which is helpful to make full use of trade green technology spillovers and has great significance on promoting China's green technology progress. Therefore, this article comprehensively examines the impact mechanism and role of international trade on China's regional green technology innovation, which is based on two perspectives of import trade and export trade, three dimensions of trade scale, trade mode, and trade mode.By constructing the knowledge production function, this paper uses the inter-provincial panel data from 2008 to 2017 to empirically test the impact of international trade on green technology innovation in the country and regions, and finally uses the dynamic panel estimation method to perform robustness testing. The main conclusions are following: the impact of international trade on green technological innovation is closely related to trade scale, trade structure, and trade methods, and presents significant regional differences. At the national level, the scale of import and export trade has significantly promoted green technological innovation, and the export trade structure has also played a positive role, while the export of processing trade has significantly inhibited green technological innovation. At the regional level, the scale of trade can only promote green technological innovation in the central and western regions;in terms of trade structure, the import and export structure has significantly promoted green technological innovation in the east, while in the central and western regions, only the export trade structure plays a promoting role;in terms of trade methods, processing trade export suppress green technological innovation in the east and Midwest regions, while the import of processing trade is not significant. Finally, according to the empirical conclusions of this paper, this article put forward some corresponding suggestions, which is hopeful to provide assistance to improve China's green technology innovation capabilities, promote green and low-carbon transformation of the manufacturing industry, and build a beautiful China.
