The development and utilization of natural resources plays a crucial role in the process of China's rapid economic growth and becoming the world's second largest economy.Especially with non-renewable energy and mineral resources exploitation and processing of the basic way of resource-based enterprise, since entering the new century,to realize the rapid expansion and development of average annual growth rate as high as 20%,created an unprecedented growth, but rapid expansion accompanied by severe overcapacity and the plight of supply and demand imbalance, extensive growth mode is unsustainable. In order to comply with the trend of national supply-side structural reform,resource-based enterprises should actively take the improvement of quality system as the main focus, and promote the development of quality-driven,innovation-driven reform. In addition, the report of the 19 th national congress of the communist party of China proposed to vigorously promote industrial optimization and upgrading, keep abreast of international standards, and promote Chinese industry to move to the middle and high end of the global value chain.Global value chain(GVC)embedding is an effective way for China's resource-based enterprises to reduce overcapacity and expand market space, but whether it can truly drive them to climb up the value chain and ultimately realize innovation and upgrading depends largely on the absorptive capacity of resource-based enterprises.Based on the theory of enterprise growth theory, global value chain, the dynamic capability theory, considering the input-output table of China and the world of input-output table of update situation, this article selects the Shanghai and Shenzhen two city from 2003 to 2014 A shares resources listed companies as samples, application Stata14.0 software embedded on the global value chain, absorptive capacity and the relationship between the resource-based enterprises upgrade for validation.Through the application of Stata14.0,it is found that :(1)global value chain embedding has a positive effect on the upgrading of resource-based enterprises, and has a positive effect on asset structure and economic performance;(2)absorptive capacity is an effective way to drive the upgrading of resource-based enterprises.Knowledge absorption capacity, knowledge transformation capacity and knowledge application capacity all have a positive impact on the upgrading of resource-based enterprises.(3)knowledge transformation ability plays a positive regulating role in the impact of global value chain embedding on the upgrading of resource-based enterprises. The research conclusion shows that: in the face of the objective reality of overcapacity and imbalance between supply and demand, the coordinated development of GVC embedding and absorption capacity is of equal significance to promote the upgrading of resource-based enterprises and the ultimate realization of sustainable development. These conclusions deepen the understanding of the upgrading of resource-based enterprises.Aiming at the embedding and absorbing capacity of enterprises in the global value chain, some inspirations and Suggestions are drawn from the three levels of enterprises, industries and governments, hoping to promote resource-based enterprises to achieve more effective upgrading goals.
