Research On The Impact Of The Agglomeration Of Productive Service Industry On Regional Innovation In The Yangtze River Economic Belt

With the continuous development of service globalization,the modern service industry,especially the knowledge-intensive and technology-intensive productive service industry,has promoted regional innovation.As an important agglomeration area of modern service industry in China,the Yangtze River Economic Belt has witnessed rapid development and obvious agglomeration phenomenon.How to make the productive service industry better promote regional innovation in the context of innovation-driven development has become a concern.When domestic and foreign scholars study the impact of productive service industry agglomeration on regional innovation,some empirical results have different views.Some scholars believe that productive service industry agglomeration can promote regional innovation,and some scholars believe that it inhibits regional innovation.Therefore,this article analyzes the effects of the agglomeration of productive service industry on regional innovation from specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration,and conducts empirical tests with the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the research object.This article adopts a combination of theoretical and empirical research,a combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis.After giving the definition of the concept of productive service industry and regional innovation,it analyzes the impact mechanism of agglomeration on regional innovation combining relevant theories from the perspective of specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration.It is found that specialized agglomeration accelerates the flow of factors and forms brand effects to promote the development of regional innovation.Diversified agglomerations improve regional innovation levels through resource sharing and knowledge spillover effects.An analysis of the current status of the productive service industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt reveals that the Yangtze River Economic Belt accounts for about 40% of the country's productive service industry.The scale of employment and fixed asset investment are constantly expanding,and the proportion of employment and the proportion investment have also increased.The employment structure and investment structure are slowly adjusting.The sum of location entropy method and the improved Herfindahl-Hirschman Index method were used to measure the level of specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration of productive services in the provinces and municipalities of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2008 to 2017.The results show that in most areas,the level of specialized agglomeration has not changed much,and the level of diversified agglomeration has shown an increasing trend.By analyzing the current situation of innovation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,it is found that the scale of innovation input and the scale of output are constantly expanding,the proportion of research and development investment in the country and the intensity of research and development input have increased,the efficiency of innovation input and output is higher,the innovation structure has been optimized,and innovation sources are rich such as universities,The National High-tech Industrial Technology Development Zone and the Institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.In the empirical analysis section,panel data of 11 provinces and municipalities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2008 to 2017 were selected for panel regression.At the same time,the endogenous problems of the model were considered.The two-stage least square method was used to further estimate the panel data model.The empirical results show that the specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration of productive services have a significant positive impact on regional innovation.Finally,combined with the status analysis and empirical analysis,four suggestions for reference are put forward.In order for the productive service industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt to give full play to the agglomeration effect and improve the level of regional innovation,each region should adjust the internal structure of the productive service industry to achieve balanced industrial development.They should also increase investment in research and development and optimize the innovation structure.The innovative talents should be vigorously cultivate and the innovation resources should be gathered.The decision makers are supposed to build a coordinated development mechanism for the Yangtze River Economic Belt to promote the innovative development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
