Although researches on tourism spatial behavior and family tourists is increasing,in the time and space dimension,there are few studies on the specific spatial behavior characteristics of family tourists.In this paper,I take family tourists in Kaifeng as the research object.Using grounded theory and method and the three-level coding analysis of 36 interviews,I construct a spatial behavior model of family tourism.The core category of my model,running through the process of family tourism spatial behavior is that family tourists differentiate in spatial behavioral representation during their traveling.We can find in this model that family tourists will show their specific spatial behavior characteristics under different space-time dimensions in the process of travel,influenced by such factors as family,destination and environmental perception.By analyzing the spatial behavior of family tourism in Kaifeng City,I find the following specific behavior characteristics:(1)From the perspective of time,the travel time of family tourism mainly focuses on summer vacation,the next relatively dense time periods comes the golden week of October 1.Most of the family tourism is a one-to-three-day self-help driving trip with parents and children,mainly in a single destination mode.(2)From the spatial perspective,family tourism in Kaifeng presents distance shorten,that is family tourism destinations are concentrated within 200 km,and tourism activities are mainly distributed within 1000 km.Kaifeng's family tourism is mainly concentrated in Henan Province,and gradually spreads from the province to Shaanxi Province which is adjacent to the West and Shandong Province which is adjacent to the East.(3)From the perspective of tourism destination,destinations of Family tourism in Kaifeng City have a “Core-edge” hierarchical spatial structure.The core and important destinations are Zhengzhou,Xinxiang,Luoyang,Jiaozuo,Jining,Rizhao,Xi'an,Qingdao and Beijing.(4)From the perspective of influencing factors,the spatial behavior of family tourism is synthetically influenced by the factors of family tourists,destination and environmental perception.These studies can provide some reference suggestions for the development and upgrading of family tourism market.Using this research,if we start from the reasons of family tourism,we can accurately judge the target groups of tourism destinations.From the perspective of family tourism consumption characteristics and family attributes,Tourism development enterprises can win by quantity and gain more benefits through attracting popular tourists by controlling the consumption level of the destination.Also this study can also provide a basis for travel agencies to analyze customer groups and their spatial choice behavior.
