In the context of the Belt and Road Initiative,Chinese companies have accelerated their “going global” journey,started their internationalization strategies,and entered the “golden age” of internationalization strategies.This is the only way to participate in the international division of labor system and enhance the status of the global value chain.It will help Chinese companies to enhance their international competitiveness,and then accelerate the transformation and sustainable growth of the domestic economy.Intellectual property protection policies are an important institutional arrangement that encourages the production and development of new knowledge.They play an irreplaceable role in promoting innovation,technological progress and economic development in a country or region.The foundation of development and then moving to overseas markets is the key resource and core competitiveness for achieving internationalization and opening up international markets.Therefore,it is of great significance to put regional intellectual property protection and enterprise internationalization in the same framework for research,which will help China build a strong intellectual property country and an open economic system,and help intellectual property grow into a powerful economic and social development in China.In this context,this paper will use the principal component analysis method to construct a comprehensive index of intellectual property protection.Based on this,this paper studies the impact of the level of intellectual property protection in different regions of China on the internationalization level of China's manufacturing enterprises,and the Heterogeneity.In terms of research content,this paper sorts out and summarizes the previous literature according to the classification of intellectual property protection issues,corporate internationalization issues,and the relationship between the two,and then explains China's intellectual property protection and corporate internationalization based on the actual situation in China Characteristic facts.On this basis,the five perspectives of awareness of intellectual property protection,protection capacity,law enforcement intensity,law enforcement intensity and local judicial level in different regions of China are synthesized,and the principal component analysis method is used to construct comprehensive indicators of China's intellectual property protection.The theoretical basis of this thesis includes the system-based view,the resource-based view,and the externality theory.Next,take a total of 1,521 manufacturing listed companies from 2009 to 2018 as a research sample to conduct an empirical analysis,study the impact of intellectual property protection in different regions on the internationalization of manufacturing enterprises,and conduct an analysis of ownership heterogeneity.The models and methods used Including fixed-effects model,Hausman test,Tobit model,one period of explanatory variable lag.Finally,it summarizes the main conclusions and puts forward corresponding policy recommendations accordingly.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: The protection of intellectual property rights in different regions of China has a positive correlation with the internationalization of manufacturing enterprises,and the improvement of the level of regional intellectual property protection is conducive to the level of internationalization of manufacturing enterprises.At the same time,the impact of intellectual property protection in different regions of China on the internationalization of manufacturing enterprises is heterogeneous in ownership.The impact of regional intellectual property protection on the level of internationalization of state-owned manufacturing enterprises in China is not significant,while the impact on non-state-owned enterprises is significant.
