Accelerating consumption upgrade,changes of the consumer groups and consumption patterns brought a huge development space to the domestic garment enterprises.But the increasing economic downward pressure,the high production cost,and foreign brands which are grabing the market share made the competition fierce in garment industry.The pressure to transform is more and more serious.Domestic garment enterprises urgently need to improve the level of internal management to gain market competitive advantage.Inventory management is an indispensable part of the internal management,linked with design,procurement,sales and other business activities.Therefore,enterprises can improve inventory status largely by optimizing their value chain,which not only helps to reduce inventory cost,but also helps to improve the overall value system of enterprises,and finally achieves the goal of changing the competitive position.First of all,this article sorts out the value chain composition,inventory management measures and current situation of H company,and finds that there are some problems,such as high inventory amount,slow turnover,and rapid growth of high-age inventory.Therefore,based on the value chain analysis framework of H company and existing research,this paper builds an framework focusing on procurement,warehousing,and sales to study the inventory management of H company.Subsequently,based on the above research framework,this article makes a detailed analysis of the inventory management planning,execution and optimization.Based on the perspective of internal and vertical value chain analysis,this article finds that H company has problems in the plans of the inventory management,such as inventory management implementation of demand forecasting,procurement process,and organizational structure.There are also some problems in the execution of inventory management,such as storage resource allocation,supplier selection and control,and sales channel configuration.Based on the perspective of horizontal value chain analysis,this article compares H company with benchmark enterprises,and further clarifies the necessity and optimization direction of the H company to improve the status of inventory management.Finally,on the basis of value chain analysis,this article puts forward specific optimization suggestions and guarantee measures based on the three directions which are planning accuracy,improving warehouse management efficiency,optimizing supply and sales channel management to help H company.This article comprehensively uses the inventory management method and value chain theory to deeply analyze the inventory management problems of H company.It has certain reference value for H company and other apparel companies to improve their own inventory management,hoping to supplement the related research of value chain and inventory management new content.
