| After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Russian government withdrew politically and economically throughout the world and ignored its long-standing relationship with the nations of Latin America. This paper will seek to understand Russia's relations with the west, but most importantly the relations that Russia has developed with Latin America during the cold war, and since its economic recovery in 1998. |
