In this article, the Indonesia Sumsel-1 coal-fired power generation EPC project is a representative project of the national"One Belt One Road" strategy, and it is also the first IPP project won by the National Energy Group in Indonesia. The project is located in Sumsel Province,Sumatra Island,Indonesia.Muaraenim County, the project has the characteristics of Chinese design,Chinese manufacturing,Chinese construction management and Chinese commissioning, and it is a window for comprehensively showing the level of Chinese electric power technology. The construction of the power plant will promote the upgrading of local industries and inject strong impetus into the economic development of the South Su Province region of Indonesia. The meaning of EPC is that the contractor take the entire work of the project including Engineering, equipment procurement and project construction in accordance with the requirements of the contract signed by both parties. In overseas EPC projects, due to the special political environment, natural environment, and cultural environment of the country where the project is located,it will have a great impact on the implementation of the entire project.Under this circumstance, the safety, progress, and quality of overseas EPC projects are very different from those of domestic projects. If the risk management in the project execution stage is not in place,it will affect the smooth execution of the project, and in severe cases may lead to the termination of the project, causing huge losses to the enterprise. This article's risk research on Indonesia's South Sumsel-1 Project is to ensure the smooth implementation of the project, and to serve as a reference for companies and other similar overseas projects in the industry. This article first explains the concept of risk and project management, then introduces the relevant international EPC theories and the current status of risk research at home and abroad, and then focuses on the risk management of the Indonesian South Su-1 coal-fired power generation project during the implementation phase.Systematic research.During the execution of overseas projects, the main risks faced by EPC contractors are:whether the technical parameters and performance indicators required by the owner can be met, whether the management level of the domestic project team can meet the requirements of overseas projects, the natural environment and the human environment, etc.Whether the adverse effects of conditions on project implementation can be overcome, etc. Therefore, during the execution of overseas EPC projects,it is very necessary to identify and analyze project risk factors and formulate risk response and control measures.Only when risk management is in place can the project be executed smoothly and the enterprise can develop healthily. This article uses literature research and case analysis to construct the risk management system of the Indonesian South Sumsel-1 Project, and conducts analysis and research on the project risks in the implementation process, and intends to propose a smooth solution to the project implementation stage Countermeasures and control methods for major problems. From a practical point of view, the author hopes that through the risk identification and research of the Indonesian South Su-1 project,it can provide reference and help for the smooth implementation of the next step of the project, and also provide certain measures for the risk management of other overseas EPC power projects.Reference meaning. From a theoretical point of view,it enriches the content of overseas EPC project management research in countries along the "Belt and Road".
