Chemical industry in China was facing a severe situation of safety in recent years.Production safety accidents often occurred in chemical enterprises, restricted the development of chemical industry. From the statistics, the main cause of production accidents is unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises. But the attention paid to the study of workers’ unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises by scholars was not enough. It was lack of research on workers’ unsafe behaviors and their influencing factors in chemical enterprises. So,it is of important theoretical and practical significance to study workers’ unsafe behaviors and their influencing factors in chemical enterprises. The paper took workers of chemical enterprises in Linzi District of Zibo City,Shandong Province as the research sample.Safety management and work environment was selected as external factors that affected unsafe behaviors, while fatigue, work pressure, safety knowledge, job skills and external control personality were selected as internal factors that affected unsafe behaviors.Assumptions about the relationship between the seven influencing factors and unsafe behaviors and the relationship between the seven influencing factors were made through theoretical analysis. The conceptual model of the influencing factors on workers’unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises was built base on the assumptions.Data was collected from 10 chemical enterprises in Linzi District of Zibo City by questionnaire.Structural equation modeling was used for analyzing and testing the model of the influencing factors on workers’ unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises. The main factors affecting workers’ unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises were identified and some countermeasures and suggestions to reduce workers’ unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises were put forward.Based on the results, some conclusions could be drawn as follows:Safety management, safety knowledge and job skills had a significant negative impact on workers’ unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises, while work environment, work pressure, fatigue and external control personality had a significant positive impact on unsafe behaviors.Safety knowledge had the strongest influence on unsafe behaviors in seven factors, and its influence far exceeded other factors except safety management.Increasing workers’ safety knowledge was the key link to reduce workers’ unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises.Safety management had the second strongest influence on unsafe behaviors in seven factors, and its influence far exceeded other factors except safety knowledge.Safety management played an important role in controlling workers’ unsafe behaviors in chemical enterprises, should be a priority. Both safety management and work environment had indirectly influence on unsafe behaviors through affecting internal factors.Safety management mainly influenced unsafe behaviors by influencing safety knowledge. The focus of the safety management in chemical enterprises was to increase workers’ safety knowledge.Job skills had indirect influence on unsafe behaviors through affecting work stress and fatigue.
