Railway is the main artery of national economy. In the critical period of rapid economic development in China, railway industry has played an important supporting role. The work performance of railway dispatchers is related to the safety of railway transportation production, but the current research on the work performance of railway dispatchers is quite rare. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study how to improve the work performance of railway dispatchers. In addition, due to the long time irregular work and rest as well as family and social aspects of the impact on the physical and psychological pressure on dispatchers, affect the safety of scheduling operations.Taking the railway dispatcher as the research object, this paper USES the relevant statistical method to discuss the relationship between the railway dispatcher’s personality, perceived pressure and job performance, and analyzes the mediating effect of perceived pressure on the relationship between personality traits and job performance. The main research is as follows:(1)Summarize previous research literature to provide theoretical basis for this study;Through interviews and surveys, the author analyzes the dispatcher’s work content and discusses the relationship between dispatcher’s personality, perceived pressure and dispatching work.On this basis, the work performance measurement scale of railway dispatcher was developed by consulting the opinions of railway experts and human factor engineering experts, and the reliability and validity of the scale was verified by reliability and validity test.(2)The influence of demographic variables on personality traits, perceived stress and job performance was explored through analysis of variance, and it was found that age had significant influence on neuroticism, perceived stress and interpersonal promotion.Length of service has a significant effect on task performance;Educational background had a significant effect on perceived stress and job commitment.Marital status had significant effects on conscientiousness, task performance and interpersonal facilitation.(3)To explore the influence of personality traits on perceived stress and job performance through correlation analysis and regression analysis,it is found that extraversion and conscientiousness have positive predictive effects on task performance and negative predictive effects on perceived stress.Neuroticism has negative predictive effect on task performance and positive predictive effect on perceived stress.Extroversion and agreeableness have positive predictive effects on interpersonal promotion.Conscientiousness is a positive predictor of work commitment.(4)Through the analysis of mediating effect test,it is found that perceived stress plays a partial mediating effect in the relationship between extraversion and conscientiousness on task performance, and a complete mediating effect in the relationship between neuroticism and task performance. The mediating effect of perceived stress on the relationship between personality traits, interpersonal promotion and work dedication is not significant. The results of this study can provide a theoretical basis for the selection of dispatchers in the future, which is of great significance for improving the job performance of dispatchers and ensuring traffic safety.
