Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the total highway mileage in China has been increasing,and the maintenance mileage has also been increasing year by year.The huge highway mileage has brought new challenges to the road maintenance and management in China.After decades of large-scale development,China’s highway industry from the "construction" to "construction and maintenance of equal emphasis" stage.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the optimal preventive maintenance time of asphalt pavement for the development of highway maintenance in China.This paper analyzes the concept and main characteristics of preventive maintenance of highway asphalt pavement by referring to relevant domestic and foreign literature.Based on the traffic axle load data and pavement performance measurement data in Gansu Province over the years,and combined with the characteristics of semi-rigid asphalt pavement,the determination of preventive maintenance time of asphalt pavement was studied.Under the action of traffic load,environment and other factors,the performance of asphalt pavement decreases year by year.Based on Gansu province highway and secondary highway asphalt pavement concrete data,using data processing and data mining related concept and method of the typical road section traffic axial load condition analysis,performance evaluation,prediction and to determine the optimal timing of preventive maintenance,the main research contents and results are as follows:(1)the traffic investigation and axle load data calculation and analysis,this paper introduces the source and types of the traffic flow data collected,this paper analyses the characteristics of the Gansu province traffic axial load,calculated the more typical section of the calendar year accumulative axle load times,analyzed the highway overall models of distribution,and carries on the classification of traffic load,finally it is concluded that the highway and secondary highway traffic volume data distribution and development trend.(2)Investigation and analysis and evaluation of the use of asphalt pavement: this paper analyzes the common diseases of asphalt pavement and whether they are related to axle load,investigates the actual diseases of asphalt pavement in Gansu Province,and makes an analysis according to relevant literature.This paper analyzes the specific data of expressway and secondary highway surface condition,studies its distribution characteristics,change rule and trend,determines the rationality of PCI as an evaluation index,and analyzes the attenuation rule and trend of PCI of expressway and secondary highway respectively.(3)Research on the prediction model of asphalt pavement performance:the main factors affecting pavement performance are analyzed,and it is concluded that the traffic axle load is the main dynamic factor affecting pavement performance.By comparing and analyzing the characteristics and applicable conditions of each prediction model,regression model and gray model were selected to build the regression equation of asphalt pavement performance decay based on accumulated axle load data.The model was verified and evaluated,and the prediction effect of the model was good.(4)The optimal timing of preventive maintenance of asphalt pavement research: through the comparative study of two kinds of pavement in common use at home and abroad and the optimal timing of preventive maintenance method for determining the characteristics and deficiencies,based on the pavement performance prediction equation,this paper puts forward the optimal timing of maintenance of asphalt pavement based on the axial load data model,and use the typical sections of case analysis to verify the maneuverability and rationality of the model,for the Gansu province highway preventive maintenance to provide reasonable Suggestions and solutions.Based on the above research contents and results,this paper puts forward a method to determine the optimal preventive maintenance time of asphalt pavement based on axle load data,which provides the basis and suggestions for determining the preventive maintenance time of expressways and secondary highways in Gansu Province,and also provides a reference for road maintenance decision-making in China.
