Campus is a significant place for students living and studying.With the variation of educational concept,the curricular standard and the teaching method change immediately.At the same time,it puts forward new requirements to teaching spaces,so that teaching place extends from classroom to public space and forms “the second class”.Simultaneously,our country is in the stage of fast urban development,and the urban population has increased dramatically.There is an imbalance between the shortage of land and degrees.The planning and implementation process of the “Futian New Campus Action Plan” is not only an innovation in the architecture design of primary and secondary schools in Shenzhen,but also a pioneer of primary and secondary schools in China.The auther takes the publice space in the teaching area of primary and secondary schools in “Futian New Campus Action Plan” as the main object of study,which is conducted to related architecture design research.At first,this thesis selected Hongling Experimental Primary School,Xinzhou Primary School,People’s Primary School and Xinsha Primary School from “Futian New Campus Action Plan”to make detailed analysis based on the historical and present situation of schools’ public space.Schools break through the original inflexible index in the process of design,and the public space promotes the development of morden education and becomes the bond between the school and city.Secondly,this thesis analyse the public space design and current situation of “Futian New Campus Action Plan”and existing schools projects from its corridor,hall,courtyard and roof,including function,form,measure,interface and internal facility of space.This section summarizes the current situation of public space in primary and secondary schools through comparative analysis.Then,according to the relationship between the new educational concept and public space,and the students’ physiological and psychological needs and behavioral characteristics,the design principles and four design strategies of public space in primary and middle schools are proposed:the strategy from singleness to complexity,the flexible design strategy,the multiple design strategy and the fuzzy design strategy.Finally,it summarizes three development trends of public space in primary and secondary schools,including the solidification,magnification,socialization of public space.
