| Our country’s urbanization has entered a stage of high-quality development focusing on inventory renewal, with emphasis on people as the core, improving the quality of the living environment, and enhancing the people’s sense of gain, happiness, and security.Faced with the various "urban diseases" problems accumulated during the previous stage of large-scale demolition and large-scale construction, urban construction and management are paying more and more attention to the green, sustainable and promoting the physical and mental health of residents by walking.Street is the most important and most directly contacted urban space, and its environmental quality is an important factor that affects residents’ walking behavior choices. The improvement of street environment quality is an important part of urban planning and construction management. In this context, the evaluation of street pedestrian environment has become the focus of urban planning and related disciplines..Mountain cities have a higher pedestrian traffic burden rate than plain cities, and due to the complex terrain of mountainous streets,it is more urgent to improve the quality of the walking environment. At present, there are few researches on mountain city walking environment evaluation. Therefore, how to meet the diversified residents’ walking needs from a humanistic perspective based on the characteristics of mountain cities, and build a mountain city street walking environment evaluation index system to guide subsequent quality improvement and encourage more walking,is an important content that needs to be paid attention to in the construction of mountain city human settlement environment. In view of this, this article starts from the micro-scale of the street, takes the characteristics of residents’ walking behavior as an entry point, discusses the relationship between walking behavior and the environment based on theories of environmental behavior and social ecology, and summarizes the street environment elements that affect walking behavior. In addition,it summarizes the characteristics of mountain city streets’ environment, and expounds the basic attributes of mountain residents’ walking purpose, walking distance, walking tolerance time and walking speed.Based on the questionnaire survey of mountain residents, relevant research results and mountain residents’ actual questionnaire survey,it summarizes residents’ walking needs, including physical convenience, safety and comfort needs,as well as psychological levels of pleasure and belonging needs.Taking walking demand as the benchmark index for evaluation,a mountainous city walking environment index system consisting of 5 benchmark levels-11 first-level indicators-25 second-level indicators was established. The 16 indicators at the physiological demand level were objectively quantified and comprehensively scored.Nine indicators at the psychological needs level were obtained by means of perceived satisfaction surveys, and reliability and validity analysis was used to test the validity and credibility of the questionnaires. In order to show the pros and cons of the indicators more intuitively, scoring standards were developed for each indicator, and the analytic hierarchy process was used to determine the weight of the indicators, thereby establishing a complete evaluation indicator system for the pedestrian environment of mountain city streets.Taking six streets in Yuzhong,Chongqing as a sample of empirical cases, analyze the characteristics of pedestrians’ walking behavior in the streets, use multi-source data,on-site surveys and questionnaires to collect data on 25 indicators in the evaluation system,as well as the flow of people in each street data.According to the established index scoring standard and weights,it calculated the scores of the 6 streets in the 5benchmark layers and the final pedestrian environment evaluation scores, and analyzed the pedestrian environment of the 6 streets on the taget level, benchmark level and indicators level. In addition,importance-performance(IPA)is used to get the priority and subsequent promotion elements of each street.Based on the established evaluation index system and combined with domestic and foreign street design guidelines,it is concluded that the mountain city street walking environment strategies on building a convenient and efficient street walking network, providing a safe and comfortable walking environment, and creating a pleasant and belonging walking experience. The 13 strategies in three aspects provide practical significance for the construction of a high-quality mountainous city street pedestrian environment. |
