| Rural tourism has gradually become a popular choice for Chinese residents in these years.For tourists,rural tourism is a way to experience farming and the natural and cultural features of the countryside;for tourism operators,rural tourism is a window to use rural tourism resources and display the rural living environment.Many villages rely on their own tourism resources to develop tourism products and become destinations for more tourist.Under this background,the contradiction between rural tourism and rural public space is expanding.Many villages have not only failed to develop the tourism industry,but also lost the quality of the original public space.This paper explores the reasons behind this phenomenon and find a way of co-prosperity between tourism development and rural public space.This research refers to new research in tourism,regional planning,architecture,environmental behavior and other disciplines.Through extensive field research in the Suzhou,it is found that different development methods will produce different tourism products.These tourism products will affect the original public space in these villages.This article first obtains the new requirements for rural public space after tourism intervention through a large amount of theoretical research.Then through field investigation and comparative analysis of three representative villages with different types of tourism products-Luxiang Village,Shushan Village and Huang Jiaxi Village,summarize the common problems encountered in the development of tourism in rural public space in Suzhou.By summarizing these new requirements and common problems,this paper proposes adaptive strategies and applies them to the engineering practice of Feng Menglong Village.This study uses field investigation and comparative analysis methods to explore the problems of lagging tourism facilities,chaotic traffic systems,imbalanced street styles,ambiguous important nodes,and lack of landscape systems exposed by the tourism in rural public spaces in Suzhou.It summarizes the mature practices of other rural public spaces in this region when facing these problems,and adopts a set of principles and strategies for the optimal design of rural public spaces after tourism intervention.It is hoped that the reasonable use in Feng Menglong Village will provide valuable experience and examples for similar villages in Suzhou to overcome these problems in the process of developing tourism. |
