| The problems of agriculture, rural areas and farmers have always been an important issue related to the national economy and people’s livelihood.Especially in the 1990 s,with the further deepening of reform and opening, the modernization process in rural areas has been promoted, and the commodity economy has been developing. In the countryside, great changes have taken place in both the material environment and the cultural environment, which has aroused the thinking of many writers and produced many literary works writing the rural reform.Through the study of the narrative mode of the works,we can not only see the writers’ attitude towards rural change and the value orientation of the works, but also form a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the novels about rural change, which is helpful for the readers to have a new perspective on the important social problem of change. The main part of the paper is divided into three chapters: the first chapter mainly analyzes the story mode of the rural reform novels since the 1990 s.The first is the story of "getting rich" in the countryside, which experiences the process from poverty to wealth. In this process, people’s material desire is satisfied, but the spiritual world is increasingly poor. The second is the story of rural "withering".The plot is advancing steadily. In the process of rural reform, both the material level and the cultural level are declining. The third is the rural "revitalization" story. The countryside is declining in the initial situation, but there is a tendency to be better, especially the positive role of the hero in rural development. The second chapter mainly analyzes the narrative tone of the novels about rural reform since 1990 s.It also tells the story of change. The different tone of narration reflects the author’s different emotional attitude and value tendency towards the event.Under the ironic tone,on the one hand, the novel vigorously describes the economic growth brought about by the change. On the surface,it seems to express the positive impact of the change, but behind this level,it shows the alienation of human nature, the expansion of desire, the disorder and chaos of society under the change.Under the lyric tone, the writer and the narrator are the bystanders of the change.Through the description of the trivial life, the writer integrates the emotion into the novel, arouses the readers’ resonance, and reflects on the human problems in the background of the times.Under the epic tone,on the one hand, the writer shows us the good quality of the simple, kind, industrious and brave farmers and the tenacious will to pursue a better life;on the other hand,he exposes to us all kinds of disadvantages of rural development, hoping that the society can solve the problems and enter a rational state. The third chapter mainly analyzes the theme generation of the narrative mode of the rural reform novels since the 1990 s.Narrative consists of two levels: story and narration. For the narrative mode of the novel,it is an organic combination of story mode and narrative tone. The theme of narrative mode is generated in different combinations. The combination of the story of "getting rich" in rural areas and the ironic tone produces the theme of "national criticism",exposes the alienation of human nature in the process of rural modernization, and criticizes the deep-rooted power consciousness in rural areas. The combination of rural "withered" stories and lyrical intonation produces the theme of "pastoral Elegy",which resonates with readers in the face of the slowly disappearing rural world. The theme of "Utopia construction" is formed by the combination of rural "rejuvenation" story and epic tone, which praises the tenacious spirit of farmers in the face of difficulties and difficult circumstances, and is full of expectations for the future of rural areas. |
