| With the rapid development of China’s economy and the improvement of its international status and influence,more and more foreign tourists come to China for tourism.In order to better serve foreign tourists,talents who both know tourism knowledge and are proficient in Tourism English are favored by the tourism industry.Tourism English teaching based on demand theory can effectively improve students’ English major ability and create a high-quality learning environment for students.However,during the investigation,it is found that tourism English teaching in secondary vocational schools in China is not conducted according to the needs of students and the tourism industry.The lack of innovation in teaching methods and means leads to the inability to improve students’ English major ability and meet the needs of the tourism industry.Based on this,in this paper,the secondary vocational school of tourism English curriculum for a large number of literature research,using the questionnaire survey method and interview method to secondary vocational school students,graduates and teachers and unit of choose and employ persons has carried on the research,from the survey vocational schools tourism English curriculum present situation,and puts forward the corresponding improvement strategy.Based on the theory of demand analysis,this paper takes improving students’ English major competence as the research objective from the aspects of curriculum objective,curriculum content,teaching implementation and curriculum evaluation,and constructs a learning-centered tourism English course.Finally,based on demand theory,the curriculum design of tourism English major in vocational schools is put into teaching practice.Through teaching cases and data,it is proved that the curriculum design is effective and feasible in tourism English teaching in vocational schools.The specific contents are as follows:Chapter one,introduction.This paper expounds the background,research theory and practical significance of this research,introduces the research methods,and sorts out and analyzes the domestic and foreign literature materials such as tourism English in secondary vocational schools and demand analysis,so as to establish the research direction of this paper.The second chapter,the status of vocational tourism English curriculum survey.The survey content,respondents,questionnaire design and program implementation are clearly defined.The demand of tourism English courses for employers,students,graduates and teachers is investigated.According to the results of the questionnaire survey and interviews,the problems existing in tourism English courses in vocational schools are analyzed,and targeted improvement strategies are proposed.The third chapter,based on the theory of demand analysis,constructs a learning-centered tourism English curriculum design from the aspects of curriculum objectives,curriculum content,teaching implementation and curriculum evaluation.Chapter four,the practical application of tourism English teaching in secondary vocational schools.This paper expounds the significance of demand analysis,takes teaching practice as a case,evaluates teachers and students,and analyzes teaching effect from two aspects: teaching feedback and students’ learning effect.Chapter five,research conclusion.Through teaching practice and data analysis,it is found that the tourism English course based on demand analysis theory is suitable for tourism English teaching in secondary vocational schools,and can effectively improve students’ English major ability and improve teaching quality and efficiency.The last part of the paper puts forward the insufficiency of the research,which will provide references for future scholars to study tourism English courses based on demand analysis theory.Innovation and Achievements of this research: Present situation of tourism English teaching in secondary vocational colleges,this paper tentatively summarizes problems existing in the tourism English teaching in vocational schools,and puts forward relevant improvement strategies,on the basis of demand theory,from the curriculum goal,curriculum content,teaching implementation and curriculum evaluation,constructing learning centered teaching model vocational schools tourism English curriculum design,attaches great importance to the students’ subjectivity and personalized learning,improve the tourism English professional ability of students,and take an Guangxi Technician College of Machinary & Electricity an as example,through teaching cases and test data,the effectiveness and feasibility of this curriculum design in English classroom teaching of secondary vocational schools are verified,it provides a new perspective for the study of English teaching in secondary vocational schools. |
