| Usually people are annoyed why they can’t remember certain information or recall what happened at some time in the past,which is the occurrence of forgetting.Forgetting and remembering are the two major functions of our memory system,so life will not only let us remember something,but also forget some information,and these are normal,which is not only a disease,but also has certain benefits for our body and mind we forget that those unimportant information can save limited cognitive resources to learn more new information.At the same time,when there are some unpleasant things in our lives that we want to forget as soon as possible Drop it,and then we need to deliberately forget.intentional forgetting is a foreign scholar Muter(1965)first proposed,Bjork et al.(1968)subsequently carried out in-depth research to establish the research paradigm of intentional forgetting.The main task at this stage is to present some learning materials for the subjects to study.After each learning material in the single word method,an indicator will follow the material that the subjects will learn before they remember or forget,and after the word table method does not present a series of materials,it will appear One indicator then presents another series of materials.After the end of the learning stage is the interference stage,the main task is to mask the relationship between the learning and the test stage.The third stage is the test stage.If the subjects scored significantly higher on the items they were asked to remember than on the forgotten items,then the intentional forgetting effect was produced.Intentional forgetting effect has been confirmed by many studies.Previous studies have found that there are many experimental studies on whether there is intentional forgetting in implicit memory and explicit memory,but there is no consistent conclusion.Some scholars believe that implicit memory does not exist intentional forgetting but explicit memory exists;others believe that both implicit and explicit memory exist intentional forgetting,but there are differences between them.So experiment one in this study mainly discusses whether there is intentional forgetting effect in implicit memory and explicit memory.However,most of the studies on the effects of emotion on intentional forgetting focus on the potency of emotion or arousal,while ignoring another dimension of emotion——motivation dimension.According to previous studies,the model of emotional motivation dimension exists,and the positive and negative emotions of high motivation narrow the attention range of individuals,while positive and negative emotions of low motivation expand the attention range of individuals.So the second experiment of this study introduces the motivation dimension of emotion to explore the implicit motivation of emotion and intentional forgetting effects in explicit memory tests.Experiment 1 of this study used a mixed design of 2(test method:recognition/preference)?2(indication type: remember/forgotten),in which the test method was designed for the time being,and the indication type was designed within the subjects.The purpose of the experiment is to investigate whether there are intentional forgetting effects in implicit and explicit memory.Experiment 2 was mixed design with 2(test mode: recognition/preference)?2(indication type:remember/forgotten)?2(picture type: high avoidance machine/low avoidance machine),in which the test mode and picture type were designed between subjects the indication type was designed within subjects.The purpose of the experiment was to investigate the effect of intentional forgetting in implicit memory and explicit memory test under negative emotion avoidance motivation.The experimental results showed that :(1)both implicit memory test and explicit memory test had obvious intentional forgetting effect,and the intentional forgetting effect was different in different test methods.(2)In the implicit memory test,the effect of intentional forgetting appeared under the condition of high motivation negative emotion,but also under the condition of low motivation negative emotion.(3)Whether in high or low motivation negative emotions,the significant difference between memory and forgetting items in the recognition test showed obvious intentional forgetting phenomenon.(4)The influence of different intensity of negative emotion avoidance motivation on the effect of intentional forgetting in implicit and explicit memory tests. |
