| As the “Belt and Road” initiative progresses in an orderly manner and the transformation of economic growth driver from the old to the new continues to deepen,Chinese enterprises have increasingly strengthened foreign exchanges and cooperation,pushing forward continuously industrial upgrading and economic restructuring and modernization.In this scenario,more and more interpreters are participating in international cooperation projects.The author had the honor to experience an interpretation practice of Hongtai Chemical Fiber Factory’s equipment disassembly and assembly project.It is a very typical on-site interpretation practice of factory project and a process of applying the interpretation knowledge and methods obtained in the classroom and from textbooks to actual practice.Theoretically,the interpreter,regarded as "sound tube" and "conduit",plays the role of information transmitter.However,during the interpretation practice,the author gradually realized that the interpreter not only acted as an information transmitter,but also played other roles.This report is based on the interpretation practice of the Hongtai Chemical Fiber Factory’s equipment disassembly and assembly project participated by the author.By analyzing the origin,development and current status of the role of interpreter and summarizing the application of the role of the interpreter in different fields,namely medical,court and business interpretation,the author proposed the theoretical framework of the report in combination with the interpretation practice of the equipment disassembly and assembly project of the Hongtai Chemical Fiber Factory,especially factory project interpretations’ characteristics acknowledged by the author.Interpreters in factory project interpretation act as information transmitter,information gatekeeper,cultural coordinator,conflict mediator and pressure bearer and those roles are analyzed with specific cases within the theoretical framework of this thesis.This report,apart from the Introduction and Conclusion,is divided into four chapters:Chapter one mainly introduces the background,process,difficulties and challenges encountered in this factory project interpretation practice.Chapter two mainly illustrates the preparation before the factory project interpretation practice and the tactical adjustment during its progress.Chapter three includes literature review and theoretical framework.Chapter four is the core content of this report,which includes case studies of the role of the interpreter,added by customer feedback and the author’s reflections on the factory project interpretation practice and on the role of the interpreter.The author hopes to justify and verify the applicability and importance of the interpreter’s role in the interpretation practice,summarize and enrich the interpreter’s role,and combine the theory with practice,that is,the theory guides the practice and practice enriches the theory,thus arousing certain thoughts on the cultivation of interpreting talents to some extent.At the same time,the author provides real and reliable materials and case analysis for other interpreters in the future practice,so that they can successfully complete similar factory project interpretation practice on the basis of fully playing the various roles of the interpreter,and effectively promote the exchanges and development of international cooperation projects. |
