| The thesis takes “dan(dan)” and “pian(pian)” as the main research object,trying to investigate their similarities and differences on the basis of corpus analysis.Based on these,the paper explores the characteristics and dynamic performance of adverbs with both scope and commentary function in the development process.The thesis is divided into six chapters.Chapter one is an introduction,which introduces the topic selection reasons,research value,research objects,corpus sources and research methods.At the same time,it also summarizes the previous studies,clarifies their achievements,and points out the deficiencies.In addition,ten authoritative dictionaries are selected to examine the part of speech of the research objects.Chapter two mainly studies syntax and semantics.In the syntax,the paper analysis sentence position,sentence category and co-occurrence.In semantics,it describes and contrasts the jurisdiction,semantic precipitation and ideological tendency.Chapter three mainly analyzes from the perspective of modality and discourse.The typical modal characteristics of “dan(dan)” “pian(pian)” are mainly the unsatisfactory nature of evaluation characteristics,the contingency of modal characteristics and the already-existence of temporal characteristics.The paper examines the cohesive methods,functions and style distribution from the perspective of text.It is concluded that “dan(dan)” and “pian(pian)” have the textual function of highlighting the focus,triggering pragmatic presupposition and limiting reference.Chapter four describes adverbs with both range and modal function.Among the range adverbs,14 adverbs with the modal function are found.After classification analysis,it is found that any category of range adverbs classified from the perspective of expressive function may produce modal function and develop into modal adverbs.In addition,it summarizes that the whole process has the characteristics of gradual,imbalance and blending.Chapter five explains the reasons for the formation of adverbs “dan(dan)”“pian(pian)” from two perspectives: internal mechanism and external motivation.And on this basis,it is concluded that the formation of adverbs with both range and modal function is mainly due to the combination of many factors such as the diversification of sentence positions,specific sentence patterns,anti-expected functional expressions and cognitive psychology.Chapter six is a conclusion.This chapter is the summary and reflection of the paper.While briefly explaining the main conclusions of the paper,it also points out the shortcomings of the paper. |
