Game teaching method refers to carrying out teaching activities by integrating "game" and "teaching" in games among students for the purpose of knowledge acquisition in a relaxed classroom atmosphere.Applied to foreign Chinese teaching initially in the 1990 s,game teaching method has been increasingly popular in its application to second language acquisition in recent years.Successful classroom games not only enhance the learning motivation substantially but also strengthen the effect of classroom teaching.In this thesis,the author proposes the feasibility,superiority and classification selection of the game teaching method in foreign Chinese classrooms based on the author’s two-year practical teaching experience in Korea and a questionnaire survey from the perspective of teaching methods.Appropriate game teaching methods are conductive to teachers’ organization of teaching activities in foreign Chinese classrooms and the enhancement of students’ Chinese learning efficiency.The thesis consists of five chapters.In the first chapter,the author analyzes the definition and theoretical basis of game teaching method,as well as interest-oriented,task-based,communicative,scientific and competitive characteristics.Then,the definition of the game teaching method of Chinese as a foreign language,the classification and factors affecting the implementation of game teaching methods are clarified.In the second chapter,the author introduces the current teaching situation of Daegu Global Education Center in South Korea.Based on the application of game teaching in the center’s teaching subjects of different Chinese levels at different ages,this part conducts a questionnaire survey,and draws conclusions after analysis.In chapters three and four,taking Daegu Global Education Center as an example,the author elaborates the characteristics of Chinese classroom games for zero-based learners and intermediate learners and learners with advanced Chinese proficiency among different age groups,and designs classroom games for teaching objects with different Chinese levels at different ages.In the end,the author designs a detailed and reliable game case accordingly.Through above analysis of game teaching status and game case design,the author draws conclusions drawn based on the author’s research and analysis of Korean teaching practice.For elementary students in the middle and advanced elite classes whom the author has not yet instructed,the author has collected real and feasible materials by means of observing classroom teaching and consulting with subject teachers.Chapter five is the summary of the strengths and weaknesses of the game teaching method.The author proposes recommendations on the application of the game teaching method in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.It is concluded that different teaching objects should be provided with suitable education in accordance with their aptitude.At the same time,it is necessary to change teaching method flexibly,and design the appropriate game teaching plan,thereby improving students’ Chinese learning capacity.
