A Report On Academic Conference Interpreting Under The Guidance Of Interpretive Theory

With the development of globalization,there are more and more academic exchanges among scholars from different countries.In recent years,various types of academic conferences have emerged and interpreting serves as the bridge for international communication.In order to ensure the quality of academic conference interpreting and to convey the meaning of speaker’s words accurately and completely,it is important to select appropriate interpreting strategies and skills.This report,based on the Chinese-English Consecutive Interpretation of the mock academic conference,summarizes the difficulties in practice from three levels of words,sentences and discourse.At the same time,under the guidance of interpretive theory,it puts forward the interpretation skills and methods to solve the above difficulties.The first chapter introduces the interpretation task of this mock academic conference.The second chapter describes the research on interpretive theory and academic conference interpreting at home and abroad.The third chapter describes the difficulties in the process of interpretation.The fourth chapter puts forward the interpretation skills such as paraphrase and replacement under the guidance of interpretive theory.The fifth chapter shares the author’s enlightenment from this interpretation practice.It is expected that this practice report can be used as a reference for interpreters and make contributions to the research of academic conference interpreting.
