A Study Of The “Verb+QILAI” In Taiwanese Mandarin

The "Verb+QILAI" structure in Taiwanese Mandarin is different from the "Verb+QILAI" in Chinese Mandarin in terms of verb collocation and semantic expression.Based on the collected Taiwanese Mandarin corpus,this study comprehensively describes the semantic and syntactic features of the trending complement "Verb+QILAI" in Taiwanese Mandarin,supplemented with "Verb+QILAI" comparison with Chinese Mandarin in some cases.First of all,the grammatical meaning and verb meaning of the "Verb+QILAI" format are studied.Based on the predecessor’s classification,the semantic types of the trend complement "Verb+QILAI" in Taiwanese Mandarin are sorted out and divided into four categories: trend meaning,completion meaning,tense meaning and modal meaning.At the same time,under each semantic classification,the types and characteristics of the verbs that match "Verb+QILAI" are examined in detail.Finishing off the subcategories under the meaning is a phenomenon worthy of attention in Taiwanese "Verb+QILAI" structure,which is one of the innovation of this article.Secondly,we study the syntactic characteristics of the Taiwanese Mandarin "Verb+QILAI" structure.It mainly discusses from three aspects,which are the position of the object,the segregation of "QILAI" and the Verb+object detachable phrases,and the specific expression of the "V1+QILAI+V2" format peculiar to Taiwanese Mandarin.Thirdly,Compare the "Verb+QILAI" format with the differences in the meaning of "Vebr+ZHU","Verb+SHANG","Verb+XIALAI" and "Verb+CHULAI",and analyze the semantic differences in detail.Finally,it explores the reasons for the formation of the special semantics of Taiwanese Mandarin "Verb+QILAI",and analyzes the influence of Taiwanese dialect on the structure of Taiwanese Mandarin "Verb+QILAI" from the perspective of language contact.From a cognitive perspective,explain the differences between Taiwanese Mandarin "Verb+QILAI" structure and Chinese Mandarin "Verb+QILAI".
