| This thesis is a translation practice report. The source texts are two papers selected from the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts(SPWLA),which explores the application of deep directional logging while drilling(LWD)resistivity measurements in accurate geosteering.Geosteering while drilling is an important technology in exploration of complex oil and gas reservoirs, playing an essential role in achieving accurate landing of horizontal wells and maximizing oil and gas production.Deep detection capacity is the key to geosteering. The deep directional LWD resistivity measurements launched by foreign service provider companies can image the geological structure within several tens of meters around the borehole and realize the geosteering in a reservoir-scale,which is of great significance for the exploration of complex oil and gas reservoirs. This translation practice is conducted under the guidance of Newmark’s text typology theory. The report consists of five chapters. In Chapter one,the translator briefly summarizes the selection of the source text and the significance and objectives of the task.In Chapter two,the translator introduces the process of translation and Newmark’s text typology theory. In Chapter three, the translator analyzes specific cases at the lexical level, syntactic level and textual level. In Chapter four, the translator reviews the practice and sorts out the key points and solutions. In the last chapter, the translator concludes in terms of theory and practice.Through this project, the translator has clarified the application of text typology theory and mastered the translation techniques in informative texts. It is hoped that this practice can provide valuable reference for the research on the national deep directional LWD resistivity measurements. |
