| With the deepening of globalization,exchanges and interactions among countries have become more frequent.With the increasing of national strength,China’s trade with other countries has increased day by day,and the demand for interpreters has also increased.As one of the interpreting methods,consecutive interpreting is a test for the interpreter.How to adapt to the speaker’s speaking style,how to grasp the pause of time and how to take notes matter a lot.It is the ultimate goal to complete the interpretation task successfully and provide reference for later tasks.Under the circumstance of COVID-19 epidemic in 2020,students majoring in interpreting have hardly had opportunity to participate in real interpreting practice.Based on this,the interpreter chooses to write a report on simulated consecutive interpretation practice.The interpreter selects Lei Jun’s speech Press Forward with Indomitable Will(the second half)as the material of the report,which is totally about 80 minutes.The interpreter chooses to finish it in a quiet room.With a computer to play the video,a voice recorder,a phone to record the interpreting process,and a notebook for note-taking.After that,the interpreter transliterates the audio into text for analysis.Under the guidance of Gile’s Effort Model,the interpreter comprehensively analyzes the problems encountered in the interpreting process,including misinterpretations,missing of interpretation,improper pauses and non-fluency.In the process of writing the report,the interpreter mainly uses inductive method and analytical method.Later,the interpreter proposes corresponding solutions to the problems:strategies at the linguistic lever are omission and deverbalization;strategies at the extra-linguistic level,including full preparations on specialized terms,to practise the sensitivity to numbers,to improve short-term memory ability;to overcome nervousness and cultivate good psychological quality.The interpreter hopes that the report can better reflect on the simulated practice.In the meantime,the interpreter wishes that the report can provide reference for later tasks. |
