| Long-term and stable trade relations are the key to the continued growth of China’s agricultural and food product exports.The slowdown in the export growth rate of China’s agricultural and food products,unstable trade relations,and short export duration have caused widespread concern.In recent years,China’s cultural strategy has undergone tremendous changes.Cultural identity has an impact on my country’s agricultural and food product trade and trade stability through consumer demand and producer supply.Therefore,this article conducts research on the role of cultural identity in the export trade of China’s food and agricultural products.Through combing the existing literature,this paper uses immigration network,Confucius Institute,cultural distance and common language as the short-term,mediumterm and long-term measurement indicators of cultural identity,and introduces cultural distance into the Chaney(2008)model,based on consumer demand and The partial equilibrium of producer supply analyzes the influence mechanism of cultural distance on China’s agricultural and food product export trade volume and export duration,and then derives an estimation model suitable for regression.On this basis,this paper uses PPML model,Cloglog model,Probit model and Logit model to empirically analyze the impact of cultural identity on China’s agricultural and food product export trade volume and export duration.The research results show that:(1)Cultural identity will significantly promote the increase in the export volume of China’s agricultural and food products trade and the extension of the export duration in the short,medium and long term.(2)The short-term,medium-term and long-term cultural identity has gradually deepened the promotion of China’s agricultural and food product export trade volume and export duration.(3)China should focus on the network of overseas immigrants in high-income countries;the construction of Confucius Institutes and the diversification of export agro-food products in low-and middle-income countries;China should pay the most attention to the dissemination of Chinese in any country;Reduce the cultural distance with trading partner countries.Based on this,this article puts forward several suggestions:(1)Increase the scale and number of Confucius Institutes,pay attention to the scientific location and layout,and narrow the cultural distance with low-income countries through Confucius Institutes,and enhance the export growth effect of cultural output.,Widespread the Chinese language(2)The government should guide enterprises to pay full attention to the important role of the immigration network in the export market,and increase the construction of informal institutions,such as helping to establish Chinese and overseas Chinese associations and federations.(3)The state should formulate trade policies cautiously,increase support at the initial stage of establishing trade relations,and help enterprises survive better by means of export tax rebate,subsidies and loans to foreign trade enterprises. |
