This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the abstract, first and second chapters of Encourage Policy Change for Sustainable and Resilient Fisheries, which discusses practical ways to navigate policy change towards more sustainable and resilient fisheries through investigating the key determinants of past fisheries policy changes. The translation version will provide policy makers, researchers and practioners in the fisheries sector in China with the international updates on sustainable and resilient fisheries policy. The original text is a scientific text that features strong logicality, which makes the translation an extremely difficult mission. In this paper, the translation difficulties are discussed from the perspective of logical translation theory, and in the light of logical translation theory, solutions are also put forward that the translation of words, sentences,a single paragraph and discourse can be processed from three levels: general logic, translation logic and scientific logic. In regard to general logic, the report discusses the conceptual meaning and translation of words, the reasonable judgment and translation of different relations between concepts, and the definition and translation of different types of reasoning. In terms of translation logic, this paper aims to analyze the logic in a sentence, the logical organization of a paragraph and the logical cohesion between several paragraphs. In the aspect of scientific logic, the report elaborates on the translation of polysemy and the intelligibility in translating.Through this translation practice, the translator has developed a deeper understanding of the features of fisheries policy texts and translation methods of such texts. The logical problems and translation strategies summarized in this report may also provide some implications for other translators of such texts.
