| In recent years,more and more attention has been paid to the development of tourism,and the academic research on tourism has been gradually deepened.Therefore,it is of great significance to translate tourism related literature.The translation materials of this practice report are selected from Tourist Destination Management: Instruments,Products,and Case Studies which is a collection of academic papers,with rigorous language and formal style.Based on the translation of chapters 4 and 5 of the book,this report chooses the theory of functional equivalence as the guiding theory to analyze the typical cases in translation according to the characteristics of the source text.The report is divided into the following four parts.The first part explains the source of the original text,analyzes the characteristics of the original text,and expounds the purpose and practical significance of the translation task.The second part introduces the whole translation process from three aspects,including pre-translation preparation,translation task implementation and quality assurance.The third part discusses various translation methods from three aspects of vocabulary,syntax and discourse based on the theory of functional equivalence.The fourth part discusses the difficulties and problems during the translation practice.This translation practice report explores the application of the theory of functional equivalence in translating English academic texts,hoping to provide insights for other translators in the translation of tourism academic literature. |
