| In the construction process of service-oriented government and governance modernization,civil servants,as the main body of public functions,have been placed on higher and higher expectations for their work ability and work attitude.In he practices of human resources management of the public sector,how to improve the public service motivation and the degree of job involvement of the civil servants in our country has become the most critical problem.Among the many antecedents,the influence of leadership style has not been paid attention to.The open,democratic and inspiring style of transformational leadership has been confirmed by more and more scholars to have a positive impact on the members of the organization.Therefore,this study attempts to use social cognition theory to explore the relationship between transformational leadership,public service motivation,and job involvement.This paper takes the questionnaire data of 473 grassroots civil servants in Hubei Province,combines theory and evidence,this paper discusses the structure of transformational leadership,public service motivation and job involvement,and the interaction between variables in different dimensions by means of factor analysis,correlation analysis,hierarchical regression analysis.In addition,this research sets up a mediation model of public service motivation between transformational leadership and job investment,and tests the intermediary effect of public service motivation.The research results show that transformational leadership has a significant positive impact on public service motivation and job involvement,among which the leadership charm dimension has a greater impact;public service motivation has a significant positive impact on job involvement,among which the self-sacrifice and commitment to the public interest have a bigger impact;public service motivation plays a partial intermediary role between transformational leadership and job involvement.This paper provides empirical support for the hypothesis of social cognition theory,and provides some directions about the recruitment,training and motivation of grassroots civil servants,as well as the cultivation of leadership styles in government departments. |
