A Study On The Spiritual Life Of The Elderly In Bai Rural Areas

The aging of population is a serious practical problem in China in the 21st century.With the acceleration of China’s aging,the problems of the elderly are increasingly prominent.The focus of dealing with the problems of the rural elderly is in the countryside,and the difficulties are also in the countryside.The current situation and problems of the spiritual life of the rural elderly have become the focus of social attention.Social development and building a well-off society in an all-round way will inevitably attach importance to the "short board" of the spiritual life of the elderly in rural areas and promote the process of their spiritual life out of poverty.Spiritual life is an important part in the life of the elderly,but the quality of spiritual life of the elderly in rural areas is relatively low.On the basis of collecting and combing the relevant research literature of the spiritual life of the elderly in rural areas,this paper expounds the importance and necessity of efforts to improve the spiritual life of the elderly in rural areas,and takes Yongdeng village in Yunlong County of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture and Zhoucheng village in Dali City as the survey objects.Through the questionnaire and interview survey,we can deeply understand the current situation of the elderly’s spiritual and cultural life,analyze the problems existing in the spiritual life of the elderly in Yongdeng village and Zhoucheng village,explore the reasons,and put forward suggestions for improving the spiritual life of the elderly in the rural areas of Bai from the aspects of the party,the government,the society,the villagers’ committee,the elderly themselves and their families.The survey found that the elderly in the two villages have low education level,poor economic condition,generally poor physical condition,limited living conditions and family conditions,limited recreational and sports activities,narrow communication scope,lack of spiritual support for their children,inadequate care services for the elderly,which restrict and affect the spiritual life of the elderly;more than 40% of the elderly feel lonely Many old people have good subjective feelings and more self denial evaluation;the old people have poor spiritual life,which is spontaneous and low-quality.In view of the outstanding problems existing in the spiritual life of the elderly,this paper puts forward five countermeasures and suggestions for improving the spiritual life of the two Bai ethnic rural elderly: first,fully understand the importance and necessity of improving the spiritual life of the elderly in rural areas;second,the relevant departments of the party and the government and their leaders should strengthen guidance and provide necessary help;third,give full play to the love of the rural community and all kinds of mass organizations;Fourth,we should strengthen the responsibility of family spiritual support and improve the spiritual life of the elderly;The fifth is to give full play to the subjective initiative of the elderly and improve their spiritual life.Through the joint efforts of the relevant departments of the party and the government,as well as the villagers’ committee,the family and the elderly themselves,we can improve the spiritual life of the elderly,improve the quality of their spiritual life,and enable the elderly in rural areas to have a happy old age.
