Anthropological Study On The Way Of Supporting The Aged In Lahu Family

China entered the aging society in 1999.By the end of 2018,60-year-old or older population of China reached 249 million,accounting for 17.9% of the total population.After entering the aging society,the problem of providing for the aged in China,especially in rural areas,needs to be solved.At present,family pension is still the main pension in rural areas of China,but the traditional family pension is facing difficulties and has shown a weakening trend.How to make the family continue to play the role of pension has become a key to solve the problem of rural pension.The author chose the village named huajiaoshu,a Lahu residential village in Shuangjiang County,as a site for fieldwork.The elderly in huajiaoshu account for 10.45% of the total population,obviously,it has entered the aging society.At the same time,huajiaoshu has also experienced a series of dramatic changes in rural areas of China.However,compared with other rural areas,there are not any problems of supporting for the elderly,and the function of its family pension still plays an important role.First of all,under the mode of family pension,the old people in huajiaoshu have achieved the goal of providing for the aged.Secondly,the old people in huajiaoshu have a high position in both ritual life and daily life.This contrast with other rural society makes the author think about: Why does the function of family pension in huajiaoshu continue to produce marked effects.The first chapter of this paper starts with the culture of providing for the aged in huajiaoshu,explain the local endowment culture and analyze how the endowment culture produce effects in the formation and the function of family pension.The second chapter gives a detailed introduction of the local livelihood,and analyze the influence of livelihood on family pension.In the third chapter,it explains the various ways of supporting the aged in huajiaoshu through the detailed field data,and analyze the influence of family structure on the way of family support for the aged.The fourth chapter analyzes the influence of the political system,especially the local political system,on the family pension.Chapter five summarizes the thesis,and regards the Lahu family pension as a system,and analyzes its influence on the function of family pension from the perspective of structural functionalism,including religious belief,pension culture,livelihood mode,family structure and political system.Ethnological and anthropological studies emphasize field work and case study.I think it can be compared with other family pension ways in other rural areas through the field work and interviews with family pension cases in huajiaoshu,and to understand why the family pension in huajiaoshu can continue to produce effects;the research on the way of familysupport for the aged in huajiaoshu can provide certain solutions for the problems of family support for the aged in other rural areas,and it may become a useful case for the elderly in rural areas.
