Grass-roots civil servants are the backbone of government departments. At present, more and more grass-roots civil servants feel tired physically and mentally because of the complicated work and the increasing work pressure.Compared with their male colleagues,grass-roots female civil servants not only have to juggle career and family, but also face social stereotypes and role conflicts, and their job burnout is increasing. With the proportion of female civil servants increasing year by year,it is of great significance to alleviate the job burnout of grass-roots female civil servants with professional social work programs. This research takes B unit of Z county as the research object, through questionnaire survey combined with interview method,to investigate the job burnout of female civil servants in this unit, and finds that the job burnout of female comrades in this unit is more serious, and there are common problems such as emotional exhaustion, low personal sense of achievement, depersonalization and so on.This study takes B of Unit B as the service object and uses narrative theory therapy as the research method to intervene the job burnout problem of B.By telling stories, the subject helps to locate the problem, and separates the problem from the subject through the method of externalizing the problem. After externalizing, exceptional events and unique results are sought to help the subject rewrite the dialogue and re-write his life story. The defining ceremony witnessed by outsiders is used as a means to consolidate the intervention effect.Through effective case work intervention, clients’ sense of self-efficacy can be improved, positive self-cognition can be formed and life value can be realized. The research suggests that social work intervention using narrative therapy can promote the alleviation of the burnout of grass-roots female civil servants, but there are still some shortcomings. From the perspective of social work, this study puts forward how to alleviate the burnout of grass-roots female civil servants, such as strengthening peer support, building social support network, improving social participation, etc.,and finally help grass-roots female civil servants give better play to their subjective initiative in their work, thus contributing to the construction of service-oriented government.
