Research On The Framework And Attribution Of Responsibility Of Juvenile Delinquency Report

Juvenile delinquency as a serious social problem is often highly concerned by the media how the news media define the cause of juvenile delinquency and the responsible subject of the solution may affect the public opinion.At present,there are few researches on the attribution frame analysis of media reports on juvenile delinquency,and this topic needs to be discussed urgently.From the perspective of frame theory and responsibility attribution theory,this study raises research questions:First,what is the reporting framework of domestic media on juvenile crimes?Second,should the responsibility of media reporting juvenile delinquency be attributed to the social level or the individual level?Third,what are the factors that influence the media’s construction of the attribution framework of responsibility for reporting juvenile delinquency?Fourth,how to improve the juvenile delinquency report.This study conducts content analysis and text analysis on 576 reports of juvenile delinquency in domestic newspapers from 2013 to 2020,using Zang Guoren’s analytical framework for reference,and carries out analysis from three levels: high,middle and low The high-level structure of the report text from the number of reports,report length,report genre,report topics,sources of five dimensions of statistical analysis,it is found that domestic media reports on juvenile delinquency mainly present a solution framework and thematic framework,but the framework elements are unbalanced.Using the theory of attribution of responsibility to investigate the middle hierarchy structure,we find that,firstly,the media report the causes of juvenile delinquency in a more balanced way,while the media tend to attribute the solutions to the problems to the social level.There is no significant difference in the attribution of juvenile delinquency responsibility between general reports and professional reports with different content attributes.The low-level structure is analyzed from three parts:keyword frequency,title rhetoric and text details.In addition,through text analysis to investigate the responsibility attribution framework,found that the media present the social responsibility framework,thematic framework and strategy framework,show the media reported the minor crime in the macro social context,and attributed responsibility to society,but there is the possibility of fuzzy risk of personal responsibility.Social norms and cultural values,economic interests and journalists’ professional qualities are the factors that influence the construction of media responsibility attribution frame.In addition,news sources also have the possibility to influence the construction of media responsibility attribution frame.Based on the above research results,this study proposes the following countermeasures on how to report juvenile delinquency and attribution of responsibility.First,balance sources to ensure the objectivity of news;Second,avoid the model of simple responsibility attribution;Third,assume social responsibility,strengthen the constructiveness of the report,and create a good public opinion environment.
