| Human resource development(HRD)in companies and student organization management(SOM)in higher institutions share not only similar goals, but also parallel theories and skills. To introduce HRD into SOM in higher institutions enables student organizations(SOs)to provide vocational education and trainings for students,so they can enhance their overall capabilities to better prepare for employment.Further more, the introduction will improve theories in areas of education and management in higher institutions as well as HR management.Less-organized SOs lack well-rounded systems, assessment and incentive mechanisms and opporctunities for training and promotion.Under such circumstances,SOM in higher institutions face four major problems as follow:first, overstaffed and less-motivated bodies;second, less efficient and non-standardized performance;third, loose management and poor execution;fourth, members’ inabilities and lack of leadership. As a result, four guidelines should be followed in order to optimize SOM with the help of HRD:first, establish necessary bodies and improve managing efficiency;second, put students first and better combine democracy with centralization;third, focus on real outcomes and improve system of rewards and punishments;fourth implement well-targeted adjustments and make long-term plans.Improvements can begin with four dimensions of HRD,including developing organizational configurations, management systems, incentive systems and staff trainings. |
