For a long time, especially in the last decade, the party and the country have attached great importance to the task of agriculture, rural areas and peasants.Under this background, rural social work is seen as a "good medicine" to solve the problem of "agriculture, rural areas and peasants",and social workers have become a force to promote the implementation of the national policies.Since the Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixteenth CPC Central Committee in 2006 put forward the "building a huge team of social work talents",China ’ s social work related policies have been continuously improved, which has effectively promoted the growth of the number of social work talents and the improvement of their quality. The social work industry is booming, with development, social work in a few areas has achieved remarkable results. However, judging from the overall development situation, the level of social work between urban and rural areas in China is extremely uneven. As for the number of social work projects, only a very small number of rural social work projects have been initiated.Rural social work has been invested in the distribution of funds and social workers which is lagged behind the city.Social work in rural areas is still at a preliminary stage of development. Therefore,it is a theoretical and practical issue to explore the problems and the solutions faced by rural social work.Guangzhou PT Town Family Comprehensive Service Center is located in the transition zone from the city to the rural area, which is a good example of the rural social work project.According to the case study, taking the Guangzhou PT Town Family Comprehensive Service Center as an example, the use of literature, interviews to collectproject-related data.Under the guidance of the distinction theory, these data are analyzed, the progressive program like the appearance of distinction, the reason of distinction and the cancellation of distinction, and the hierarchical logic of macro, meso and micro is used to construct a relatively complete Theoretical framework. This paper summarizes the challenges that social work projects often face in rural areas, such as not understanding the local knowledge of rural areas, the lack of rural resources, the lack of activity autonomy of villagers, the high rate of social worker turnover, and the low participation rate of villagers.Along with the Bourdieu’s theory of distinction which is focusing on conflicts,we can find that these problems reflect to the triple separation between social workers and rural and villagers, that is,That is,the distinction of the understanding, the distinction of the identity, and the distinction of the intervention. The reason for these distinctions lies in the fact that people have wrong choices about the trade-off between urban and rural factors in the future development path of rural areas, the distribution of power and social roles of social workers and villagers, and the professional and local nature of social work ethics and methods. Therefore, this paper proposes optimization countermeasures, that is,based on the understanding, establishes the development path of the rural standard, gives full play to the main role of the rural and peasants, and improves the social work ethics and methods to adapt to the rural environment. These measures help to eliminate triple distinctions and improve the effectiveness of social work projects in rural areas.
