In recent years, the Ministry of Education and other national departments have issued a series of policies to vigorously promote the development of research travel for elementary and middle school students, including establishing 10 regions such as Zunyi City,Guizhou Province, and Hefei City,Anhui Province as national experimental travel zones for primary and secondary school research,The combination of tourism has become the general trend.Under the huge development opportunities,Guiyang City has also issued relevant policies for elementary and middle school students’ study trips, and carried out a series of innovative practical explorations. However,at the same time as development, the lack of safety management systems, research activities deviating from the theme, and lack of professional research Difficulties such as tutors have brought a series of new challenges to the study tours for elementary and middle school students. Therefore, studying the factors that affect the participation of research travel has practical significance and academic value for solving the predicament of research travel for primary and middle school students in Guiyang. The study tour "Education through fun" and "Learning through travel" is a new type of tourism. It is an effective way to comprehensively educate people through the combination of boarding and lodging outside the school, carrying out research learning activities and school education. This research is based on the theory of demand hierarchy, the theory of human overall development, and the theory of planned behavior.Based on the current situation of research activities of primary and middle school students in Guiyang and previous research results, this study constructs a 2 An index system of the independent variables "motivation for participation" and "constraints" was used to conduct empirical analysis on the collected questionnaire data using IBM SPSS Statistics.25 and Amos Graphics.23 software.Gender T test, grade variance test, family monthly income variance test, most attractive research travel type variance test, and descriptive statistical analysis were performed on two independent variables, and two were determined by exploratory factor principal component analysis Dimensional components of independent variables, and confirmatory factor analysis on the basis of model construction and theoretical assumptions to obtain key impact factors and theoretical hypothesis test results, further exploring the structure of "study travel participation-participation motivation-constraints",Finally,based on the data standardization of the influence ofthe two independent variables, combined with the influence score and key influence factors,a hierarchical model of the influence variable “research participation” is drawn. It is found through research that the two independent variables "motivation of participation" and "restriction factors" have significant positive and negative effects on the dependent variable "research participation",respectively. The key influencing factors indicate that the dependent variable "study travel participation" is mainly positively affected by the four dimensions of destination motivation, cognitive motivation, interpersonal motivation, and social motivation;it is negatively affected by support guarantee factors and feedback factors. The data standardization results show that the independent variable "motivation for participation"(+3.23)has a greater influence on the dependent variable "study travel participation" than the independent variable "constraint factor"(-0.61),indicating that the motivation of elementary and middle school students in Guiyang to participate in research travel is very strong However,it is still subject to certain restrictions and has a more optimistic development prospect in the future. Finally,it puts forward countermeasures and suggestions from the five levels of government, schools, travel agencies, research travel instructors, and tourism industry associations, which provides a reference for the development of future research travel for primary and middle school students in Guiyang.
