With the "Opinions on Implementing the Project of Inheritance and Development of Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture" issued by the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council and the convening of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the emphasis on national culture in China has risen to a new height,aiming at building a socialist cultural power.The main purpose is to enhance the national cultural soft power and realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of China.This is bound to be a new opportunity for the development of traditional sports of ethnic minorities,ethnic areas should pay attention to it and grasp the important opportunity.Yunnan Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture is the only Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in China,the junction of China,Myanmar,Yunnan and Tibet,and has a national boundary of 449.5 kilometers.It is located in the longitudinal valley of the transverse mountains in the southern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,the "roof of the world".Nujiang Prefecture has a unique landform,its soil type is complicated,what is more unique is that it inhabits a wide range of nationalities,in its 520 thousand population there are nine nationalities have a population of more than one thousand;they are Lisu,Bai,Pumi,Dulong,Nu,Yi,Naxi,Tibetan and Han nationality.Some nationalities with small population haven't included in,The Dulong and Nu nationalities are unique minorities which existed in Nujiang prefecture only.In a word,Nujiang Prefecture is the Autonomous Prefecture with the largest ethnic composition and the largest ethnic population in China.It is precisely in such ethnic areas with unique national cultural that we should seize the new opportunity of the new era,innovate the development mode of traditional sports of ethnic minorities,save the excellent traditional sports culture of ethnic minorities which is gradually alienated or on the verge of disappearance,and do a good job in protecting and inheriting the traditional sports of ethnic minorities.The article' main research object is the motivation of participating in traditional ethnic sports of middle school students of Yunnan Nujiang Lisu AutonomousPrefecture'.The author went to Lushui County,Fugong County,Gongshan Dulong Nu Autonomous County and Lanping Bai Pumi Autonomous County of Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture,Yunnan Province,take a survey to five middle schools,including Nujiang Prefecture National Middle School,Lushui County First Middle School,Fugong County First Middle School,Gongshan County First Middle School and Lanping County National Middle School.According to the needs of this study and the actual situation of investigation,800 middle school students were selected to participate in the survey,including Bai,Pumi,Lisu,Dulong,Nu and Han nationalities.The purpose of this paper is to understand the basic situation of middle school students' participation in Minority Traditional Sports in Nujiang Prefecture,and to clarify the differences of their motivation when take part in the sports according to different gender,grade and nationality;and whether the differences are significant.After collecting,collating,analyzing and discussing the survey data,the conclusions are as follows:Firstly,the basic situation of middle school students participating in Minority Traditional Sports in Nujiang is not optimistic.Middle school students of Nujiang pay more attention to minority traditional sports,but the understanding ability is relatively low,the number of participation is relatively small,and most middle school students participate in each time for less than 30 minutes.Secondly,the motivation of middle school students participating in Minority Traditional Sports in Nujiang Prefecture is mainly internal motivation,supplemented by external motivation.The order of motivation level is as follows: achievement motivation,knowledge motivation,self-relaxation,environmental factors,interpersonal communication,fitness needs.Thirdly,there are significant differences between junior middle school students and senior high school students in learning motivation,relaxing oneself,environmental factors,fitness needs and interpersonal communication.The motivation level of junior middle school students is lower than that of senior high school students.Fourthly,in terms of knowledge-seeking motivation,junior high school students with different gender in Nujiang have marginal significance in participating in ethnic minority traditional sports,junior high school girls are more inclined to learn knowledge through participating in ethnic minority traditional sports than boys;in terms of environmental factors and fitness needs,each grade has significant differences,the motivation level of grade one junior high school students is higher than that of grade 2and grade 3.Fifth,there are significant differences between male and female students in learning motivation,environmental factors and interpersonal communication.The motivation level of male students is higher than that of female students.In terms of relaxation and fitness needs,there are significant differences between different grades of senior high school,and the motivation level of grade 2 is higher than that of grade 3 and grade 1.Sixth,in terms of relaxation,achievement motivation and knowledge-seeking motivation,there is a significant difference between the minority and Han middle school students in Nujiang prefecture.The motivation level of minority middle school students is higher than that of Han middle school students.In terms of self-relaxation,there are significant differences among Bai,Pumi,Dulong,Nu and Han nationalities;in terms of achievement motivation,there are significant differences between Dulong and Han nationalities;in terms of knowledge-seeking motivation,there are significant differences between Dulong,Nu and Han nationalities.Seventh,there is a significant difference in the motivation of seeking knowledge and relaxing oneself among the minority middle school students in Nujiang Prefecture,and the order of motivation level among the minority middle school students is Dulong > Nu > Pumi > Bai > Lisu.In the aspect of learning motivation,there are significant differences between Bai nationality,Lisu nationality and Dulong nationality;in the aspect of relaxation,there are significant differences between Lisu nationality and Dulong nationality.In terms of environmental factors,interpersonal communication and fitness needs,there is no significant difference among ethnic minority middle school students on the whole,but in terms of environmental factors,there is a significant difference between Pumi and Dulong ethnic groups.In terms of interpersonal communication,there is a significant difference between Bai,Pumi and Dulong,Nu;in terms of fitness need,there is a significant difference between Pumi,Nu and Bai Nationality.
