An Analysis Of Discipline Distribution And Cross Evolution Of International Sports Journals

Both international sports disciplines and international sports journals have been developed for hundreds of years,and in terms of the formation of disciplines and the promotion of social development in China,China’s modern sports started much later than international sports,which are dominated by European and American countries.In recent years,whether it is the publication of core Chinese sports journal articles or the degree thesis,the proportion of references to foreign language literature is very limited,indicating that domestic scholars have paid less attention to international sports journals and have fewer results.Therefore,It is urgent to gain a deeper understanding of international sports journals.On the other hand,international sports journals are an important platform for competing for the right to speak internationally and enhance their influence.Under the circumstance that the total number of SCI papers published in China has gradually climbed and won the second place in the world,sports disciplines cannot be ignored.Further speaking,international sports journals are the epitome of the development of international sports disciplines.Relevant analysis of the distribution and evolution of disciplines of international sports journals will help domestic scholars to better understand the original appearance of international sports journals,so that they can be more targeted.Excellent theory of international sports journals to solve new practical problems.Research to in the Web of Science in 1948-2018 the citations in 70 accounted for 5% of total literature highest-9785 literature as a source of data for this study,divided into four stages,using logical analysis,the literature material law,journals cited analysis,clustering analysis and so on,USES the means of knowledge map,visualization analysis was carried out on the evolution of international sports Science disciplines cross.The following results are obtained: In the first stage(1948-1975),physiology played a relatively dominant role,medicine and pedagogy were relatively backward in importance,and psychology and sociology ranked low in the major disciplines.In the second stage(1976-1998),the second stage of the development of physical education,the main disciplines were physiology,medicine,psychology,education and biomechanics.In the third stage(1999-2008),the main related disciplines of physical education evolved into six major disciplines: physiology,medicine,psychology,education,hygiene and epidemiology.In the fourth stage(2009-2018),the main related disciplines of physical education evolved into eight major disciplines: physiology,medicine,psychology,education,hygiene,pediatrics,epidemiology and sociology.By referring to the concept of knowledge flow,this paper further analyzes and describes the trend of sports science interdisciplinary evolution.Clinical medicine and medicine,there has been a further division of disciplines,the development of physical education steady growth.In the aspect of biology,the division of biomechanics has emerged,which has become the main source of knowledge for sports science researchers.In the aspect of psychology,the new research paradigm has influenced the research paradigm of physical science.The contribution of social science to physical education has been relatively stable,with a trend of quantitative research.Based on the theory of knowledge flow,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)By studying the distribution and cross-evolution of international sports journals,the nature of the comprehensive and interdisciplinary disciplines of sports disciplines can be fully mapped.(2)The number of articles published in international sports journals is gradually increasing,and the frequency of self-cited journals is also increasing.Cited sports subject journals are increasing year by year,indicating that the sports discipline is actively constructing an independent academic norm system and theoretical research paradigm,and the self-citation rate is constantly increasing.(3)The interdisciplinary evolution of the disciplines of international sports journals presents a situation of differentiation and integration among various disciplines,showing that seeking a deeper level of synthesis on the basis of differentiation and requiring further differentiation in the comprehensive trend.(4)Generally speaking,in international sports journals,the citation frequency of social disciplines is far lower than that of natural sciences.In general,international sports disciplines are biased towards natural sciences.(5)The history of international sports journals is closely related to the development of society and major historical events,reflecting a strong application.(6)In general,the interdisciplinarity of international sports journals mainly exists in seven disciplines: physiology,clinical medicine,medicine,biology,psychology,sociology and education.
