China’s economic growth mode is changing from a traditional factor-driven to an innovationdriven.Human capital is an important driving force for this transformation.With the idea that education makes a country stronger,China’s education has been steadily improved by continuously increasing education investment.The structure of human capital shows a trend of advanced evolution in which the proportion of low-level human capital is gradually decreasing and the proportion of high-level human capital is increasing.Therefore,this article studies how the evolutionary characteristics of human capital structure upgrading will affect innovation efficiency,and the magnitude of their impact in different regions.On the one hand,the research in this paper can enrich the theoretical research of human capital structure and innovation efficiency.On the other hand,the article provides some development suggestions for the optimization of human capital structure and the improvement of innovation efficiency in various regions of China.First,the article sorts out the theory of human capital structure upgrading and the mechanism of human capital structure upgrade affecting innovation efficiency.Based on this,this article conducts an empirical analysis of the relationship between human capital structure upgrading and innovation efficiency.The vector angle method is used to measure the index of human capital structure upgrading,and then the input-output model is used to measure the innovation efficiency value of each province.Then construct a multiple linear regression model for empirical analysis and find that human capital structure upgrading in China has a significant positive effect on innovation efficiency.The article builds a GMM model and applies dynamic panel data for further research,in order to more accurately test the impact of human capital structure upgrading on innovation efficiency,and examines the impact in different regions.Based on the empirical analysis results,the following conclusions are reached.First,human capital structure upgrading has a very stable positive promotion effect on innovation efficiency in China.Second,there is a spillover effect of innovation efficiency.The innovation efficiency of this period has a significant impact on the next period.The improvement of innovation efficiency in the current period promotes the improvement of the next period of innovation efficiency.This shows that while human capital structure upgrading promotes the improvement of current innovation efficiency,it also has an indirect effect on the later innovation efficiency.Third,human capital structure upgrading has different effects on innovation efficiency in different regions of China.The human capital structure upgrading has a significant positive effect on innovation efficiency in the eastern and western regions.And the influence of the east is greater than the west.Human capital structure upgrading cannot significantly improve innovation efficiency in the central and northeastern regions,because the empirical analysis results do not pass the significance test.Finally,the article puts forward some policy recommendations in order to optimize and upgrade China’s human capital structure and improve innovation efficiency.For example,increasing human capital investment in various regions,coordinating regional human capital allocation,realizing the transformation of human resources to human capital,and strengthening the cooperation of production,teaching,and research. |
