In recent years,more and more attention has been paid to vocational education in China.Various secondary vocational and technical schools have been reforming the training modes and curriculum of professional according to local characteristics,industrial demand and professional orientation.However,there are some obvious curricular problems are still exsiting.Take the compulsory course in secondary vocational Computer Application Foundation school as an example.It takes too much attention on skill operation that ignores the attainment of training and the integration between disciplines and demands in the market,which leads to less application ability of students and insufficient appraisal mechanism.So this study aims to figure out the causes of the problems existing in the implementation and come up with some improvement strategies of for curricular reform of Computer Application Foundation in various majors from different secondary vocational schools.This paper is trying to figure out the big gap existing between practical teaching and imployers’ demands through student questionnaire surveys,enterprise interviews and the teacher interviews which have deeply investigated the needs of computers from the accounting profession,the teaching situation of the course and teachers,and the demands of the positions in enterprises.The main reasons for the big gap between the actual teaching and the employers’ demands are:(1)attention from teachers for the curriculum is not enough and teachers are lack of the knowledge of professional requirements;(2)the students are from diverse background and their learning ability is week;(3)the teaching mode is lack of flexibility;(4)the teaching content is divorced from the professional demands;(5)the appraisal mechanism is not scientific enough;(6)the guidance of school policy is unreasonable.Finally,according to those questions,improvement strategies for the reform of Computer Application Foundation is to be put forward on the aspects of curriculum system,teaching content,teaching mode,appraisal mechanism,teaching resource exploration and construction of teacher.
