| The custom of inviting Taoist priests is a common folk activity in Guangxi Zhuang rural society.This study conducts a sociological analysis of the phenomenon of inviting Taoist priests in the village Y of Pingguo county,Guangxi.based on the theory of social exchange,the study uses the methods of literature research and qualitative research to collect data.it mainly analyzes the main subjects of exchange and the resource elements of exchange,discusses the remuneration obtained by the main subjects in the exchange process,and discusses the performance characteristics and exchange significance of villagers’ mutual assistance behavior in the custom of inviting Taoist priests.The study found that the phenomenon of inviting the Taoist priest has practical significance for families in their daily life from the village Y.The form of material compensation for each family representative or group participating in the activity is mainly reflected in food enjoyment,and after the activity is over,the family also obtains social recognition and support.The chatting that takes place in the process of mutual aid has certain social significance.Chatting is a way to exchange information about villagers’ life and production.The custom of inviting Taoist priests has a positive impact on the social development of families in Zhuang rural areas.When people need to invite Taoist priests,it is forthe needs of individuals or families,but also for the needs of the society.In the process of participating in social exchange,all subjects find opportunities for their own development to a certain extent.For specific families,this opportunity can change the life predicament that families are currently facing. |
